This cloud just needed a very slight tweak to turn it into the bat signal. What you see is almost exactly how it looked in the sky, minus the bat ears and tail point.
A look at the Hancock Building and the Bat-Signal. I knew Chicago was new Gotham; I just didn't realize how far it had gone.
There are a million and one places from where you can shoot the night lights in Chicago - though I suppose you can say the same for any city (except Indianapolis; I failed miserably there). Lincoln Park and the surrounding area will probably go down as one of the more enjoyable places we explored... even if we did it in a heavy, enveloping mist. With The Dark Knight watching.

No lights were install lights on the cannon and batsignal (tried but proved impossible). Instead, I mounted lights to shine directly at them. Much easier
a good amount of time put into the whole set, probably an hour - 1 1/2 hr (lost track of time)
2 x PRO kit, total of 32 lights, not counting the standalone Mini modules in batman's vehicles
Probably over 16 extensions wires
My website will host How-to-install Photos and Contests, www.artifexcreation.com coming soon!

It's the most hotly anticipated teaser since the 1989 Batman teaser that played before "Dangerous Liaisons" (and had people leave shortly after).
Those lucky to see the teaser at SDCC (or saw it online somewhere before the nice folks at Warner Bros. pulled them) saw an armored Batman (much like his suit at the end of THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS) take a tarp off a Batsignal, look up into the sky, where he sees Superman with glowing red eyes. Batman stares back with glowing blue eyes.
That's all.
Cue BATMAN V SUPERMAN logo.
The end.
CUE SCREAMING FANBOYS (AND FANGIRLS)!
CUE HOURS OF DISCUSSION OF WHO ELSE IS IN THE MOVIE, WHAT WILL WONDER WOMAN DO, IS THE FLASH MAKING A CAMEO, IS DOOMSDAY IN IT, etc, etc...
Seeing as there are no spoilers in the teaser, I wish Warners would just release it for pete's sake...
Princess Beatrice and her Royal wedding hat...no ordinary style vigilante!
Once again, I note that I really liked her hat, even though I didn't actually get around to watching the wedding. Good on her for wearing it!
Not much to this reworking, just the hat silhouette for the signal and one for the figure as well. Threw in a bit of extra grain texture and blur.

Nah, it's just that given the context of the story, he thought it'd be appropriate to present somebody else's work as his own

It's a good strategy to adopt...
What have I said? Now we're going to have Moore derailed threads!

Of course. Because Lichtenstein is respected due to the quality and originality of his illustrations.
The same way Andy Warhol is respected for being this great photographer, and Marcel Duchamp astonished the world thanks to his amazing technique of producing urinals.

It sickens me that people associate Lichtenstein with comic book art. That would be like saying Hitler was a great Jewish leader.
There. Figured we would get Godwin's Law out of the way.
Seriously. This asshole did nothing but enforce high art snobs to think better of themselves and worse of actual comic artists.
Funny. I was at a pop art store in Downtown Disney in Florida and they had some total knock off prints with Golden Age Batman and Silver Age Superman. They did’nt allow photos and I forgot the guy's name.
So not only did Lichtenstein screw over comic artists in favor of his so called high art and pop art... the fuck face set precedence for generations of lazy pop artists to follow.
ColonelLee
the preview of the Hero Initiative comic I just saw over at CBR has a great personal view of the Lichtenstein deal .. by Russ Heath .. whose work was also appropriated by Lichtenstein ..
Locusmortis
The fine art world seems to simultaneously sneer at...and copy from the commercial artists quite often. Theres also the case of Glenn Brown (one of Charles Saatchi's favourites, that should in itself tell you enough about him) copied works from sci-fi book cover artists Tony Roberts and Chris Foss and passed them off as his own work. Thankfully he was forced by the courts to credit Roberts and Foss and pay compensation to them too.
Rick Worley
Oh man, again with this dumb shit about Lichtenstein? Presenting the original next to the work Lichtenstein created from it doesn't prove something unless you don't know what you're talking about to begin with. Lichtenstein wanted people to know that he was referencing something pre-existing,that was the entire point.
Locusmortis
That doesn't stop him from being a lazy, thieving hack.
Rick Worley
He didn't steal anything, that's completely ridiculous, but I'm not gonna have a debate that was already talked out 50 years ago, even though this message board seems to think it's still news every few months.
bottleHeD
Roy Lichtenstein - Patron saint of thieving hack artists.

In our continuing series of "Fake Movies We Wish WERE Made So That Robert Osborne Can Show Them On TCM Essentials", I recently saw Rita Hayworth in "Gilda", and thought, what the heck? Red hair notwithstanding, I think she could have done the job nicely.
For a look at what might have happened if Orson Welles HAD done a Batman movie., check out "Batman: The Greatest Stories Ever Told, Vol. 2" for Brian Michael Bendis's "Citizen Wayne". Not your typical Batman story, but definitely worth a look.

Rainforest Action Network projects "Keep Washington Beautiful No Coal Exports" at the Kerry Park overlook of downtown Seattle.
During the 100th American Association of Port Authorities convention, Rainforest Action Network roamed the streets of Seattle, Washington with a guerrilla projection team. RAN activists shone a massive Batsignal-like light on iconic Seattle locations to elevate the profile of controversial coal ports in the Pacific Northwest. Coal companies like Peabody Energy and Arch Coal, financed by Bank of America, plan to build export terminals along the Washington coast to ship coal to overseas markets. Local residents and environmental advocates are doing everything in their power to stop these dirty coal ports in their tracks.
