Joshua Tree National Park -- Barker Dam Hike took in some great landscapes and a pristine freshwater lake in the middle of the desert.

This was once an inn, but now it has retail space & apartments. I tried to see what information I could find out about the building, but I just kept getting apartment reviews that were not good ones at all. It's also been for sale, but has been taken off the market for now. It's on the National Register of Historic Places so it's a shame that it seems to be mismanaged. And, not surprising, one of the apartment reviewers said the place was haunted.
