Although I've heard conflicting reports, rumor has that when he was arrested in 1969, Charles Manson was found hiding from the police under this sink.

The captain of the 767 foot long Kaye E. Barker demonstrates how to parallel park this 1952 constructed beauty. He made it look easy. Somebody like me would have crashed her into the wall. This is the Ozinga dock within the bowels of the lower Calumet River in South Chicago. Sharks, gators, coyotes and the CF&L lake boat addicted routinely prowl the area. Use caution when entering.

While tryng to fight off a summer photographic dry spell I went up to Joshua Tree to try my luck at Barker Dam this weekend. There was very little water left so I had to struggle a bit to get this composition. I would have liked to get more clouds in the upper right. That empty space bothers me so I might crop that side out. But I do like the shot.

RUPO rumbles across the farm fields in North Leeds, ME, on the Rumford Branch with a pair of GP40 variants and 75 cars from the pair of mills to the north. With Pixelle in Jay quite possibly on it's final breaths, trains this large will likely become extremely uncommon in the next few months.

M/V Mark W Barker, the newest ship on the Great Lakes and the first built in the US in 40 years, departs for Brevort after discharging her first cargo in Muskegon, MI.
I took this at Warped Tour 2005, while Barker played for "The Transplants." I just wanted an image of him playing but saw that I captured his facial expressions while he is drumming.

The old vintage Barker Apartments sign with the nearly full moon peeking out underneath. Ray and Mildred Barker owned the apartments as well as the nearby Frontier Motel and Cafe along Route 66 in Truxton. Ray died in 1990, but Mildred continued to run the cafe until shortly before her death at age 87 in August 2012. Her relatives eventually sold the motel to someone who had contacted them about trying to purchase a 1966 Oldsmobile. How quickly one's life can change when trying to purchase a car! I lit the vintage sign from several different angles with a handheld ProtoMachines LED2 light painting device during the exposure, and just let some of the other lights in the distance fly. This was photographed during a 10-day 2559-mile night photography road trip a day before meeting up with Mike Cooper, Tim Little, and George Loo. This photo may appear in a third book of night photography that I am working on now.

I was determined to catch the sunrise at this pond, so hiked into here by flashlight (take that wicked magnetizing bed!) What a surprise to find that the waterfowl were all awake, squawking and splashing, attempting to destroy the perfectly smooth surface of the pond.
Only a short period each year is there water at this location in Joshua Tree National Park. This is called Barker Dam, the dam is located behind the rocks on the left side.
