The new Barker & Stonehouse Battersea store, bearing the logo of Charles Farris, whose candles were once made here and which are still on sale in the new store.

Barker Mansion, Michigan City, IN. Built between 1905 and 1909, in the English Manor style, the architect was Fredrick Perkins.
The original structure is seen at the back and was built in 1857.

As I had hoped, the southerly storm caused ships rounding Whitefish Point to come inshore, seeking some relief in the lee of the land. I was waiting....
This time I had my tripod and screw-on telephoto.
Here the Barker is still pretty far off. Between the optical and digital zoom, and the 2x tele, this is magnified 80x.
When I took this I got a "low battery" indication, so I turned the camera off and waited for the ship to reach perime.
Expansive bathroom with Carrara marble side table, over-sized Japanese soaking tub with custom glass doors. Large mirror and designer floor tiling.

I have become quite a fan of the "big-head portrait" of late. It's always interesting to see someone from a view point you wouldn't normally. For this (and the other large head portraits featured here) I stood on a chair and photographed from above. I increased the contrast and added effects in Photoshop to create drama.
i'm helping the mit library in a study they're doing about how students collect information they need for research. as part of it, i had to keep a photo journal of my information-gathering activity. here's a shot of barker (engineering library) during my quest for journals.
