Scanned from found negatives which were taken by me in 1969 on the way or at the Brighton Motorcycle Show in 1969.

Glen my girlfriend at the time now my wife of over fifty years.

The Belfast jacket in the photo was sold on eBay ten years ago when we were sorting the wardrobe to Japan for £250.

Glen later rode her own bikes.

Vanilla sugar cookie hammers with hand painted woodgrain handles. Yummy!

As soon as I saw the Flickr Friday challenge was #Moon, I knew where I was going for the shot. And, as usual, I got there before they opened. (When you shoot the sunrise every day, it’s not hard to do.) Any excuse to go to The Moon Bakeshop works for me. They have to best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. Period. And it’s perfect every time.

I really thought I’d get a shot of the whole storefront — with a pedestrian or a car blurred, going past the front. I try not to overthink it and remain flexible. But as soon as I saw the sky reflected in the glass door -- with the lights on back in the kitchen — I knew I would wind up using this shot. I’d love to go back every morning and wait for a great sky but…I can’t afford the calories. I’ll have to walk a couple of extra miles on the mountain to pay for today’s sins. But it’s worth it.

I spent my evening reading Kim Boyce's Good to the Grain, that my mother-in-law sweetly gifted to me for Easter, and I am feeling so, so inspired. It's not often that a cookbook leaves me wanting to make everything in it. It also has gorgeous, simple photography, that I could look at all day.

Anyway, here are some of Kim's beautiful pastries from her Bakeshop.

It's not every day that you get to put Bruce Lee on a cake. We savored it.

I found it scary to start my first machine stippling, but once started I only had the choice of unpicking or continuing. My machine kept snapping the bobbin thread so it was quite challenging, but I was pleased with the results. (I had the machine plate repaced and no more broken bobbin threads when free motion quilting.)

Made enough for one twice this size but didn't like the color combos, picked thru the blocks and came up with the brighter version. Bizbee couldn't wait 2 seconds for me to get a photo.

Handmade fondant leaves and piped garden flowers circle the base of this Beatrix Potter-inspired cake. Topper and butterflies are handmade out of fondant.

Giant Christmas bulbs decorated with almond royal icing and glittering sugar.

Giant candy cane cookies - a delicious part of my holiday Sugarplum Cookie Series!

Outside a group of stores and the Bake Shop in Girdwood, Alaska. The area was decorated with huge plants and hanging baskets of bright colorful flowers. When I returned 2 days later all of the plants were gone. So many stores and attractions shut down on or around September 15th, the end of the summer tourist season.
