These are the steps from the cellar to the backyard, where everybody is carrying their bikes an trash. Temperature is above freezing, it's been wet all the time, so the weed starts growing even in January.

Here's the Farmer, claiming that it was his idea alone.

Mt Adams as seem from a lucky guy's backyard

A wild Roe deer in our backyard, he feels safe there I think.

I was weeding the vegetable garden recently and noticed this ladybug crawling down a weed stem, apparently looking for aphids. Backyard wildlife.

This guy came into the backyard yesterday. I went out to make sure the deer could find it's way back over the fence. Instead he started following me around. Had to finally make enough noise for him to leave. Then hung out in the green belt, munching away for about 20 minutes. Before he left, I told him to watch out for the local Cougar.

Most of the time I stay at home and I will find any possible subject like this little flowers in my backyard.

I try converting it to B&W and I like B&W.

Spent the afternoon with the Hummingbirds. One would come to the feeder about every 10 minutes.

Though my house is only on a 10th of an acre, there are very large/tall trees in the backyard.

Cedar Waxwing. Cedar Waxwing perched in a tree in our backyard on an overcast day.

Three exposures with light-painting from my headlamp, 4 hours of thirty second exposures with my Canon Fisheye 8-15mm f/4L. Processed using StarStax software. The corn adds a nice touch in my back yard. #heavenonearth visit me on the web www.johnbeatty.photos

Here is another shot l liked from my unplanned Batten Kill chase as Alco RS3 (blt. 9/52) 4116 cuts thru backyards south of Cambridge just after crossing White Creek Shunpike Road near MP 137.9 on the old Delaware and Hudson Washington Branch trundling north to Greenwich Junction. Not sure what type of hawk this is but he was just hanging out in our backyard the other day. It is poor quality pic b/c I took it through the back door and the screen b/c I did not want to scare him off.

Berry of some sort

This is Ralphie one of our koi pond green frogs, peeking up from his favorite rock. Backyard photography.

My cute friendly magpie Chicken little was on bird patrol this afternoon watching and keeping everything safe.

I've usually had about 4 squirrels that regularly visit my backyard bird feeders (and torment my dog Barney) but they've been very scarce this summer. This spring I had a hawk that had made my yard his territory and I'm wondering if perhaps they became a meal for him.

Texture by Picmonkey.

After 3 days of dark skies a rainbow came out.

The Grackles seemed even more agitated today than usual after the rain stopped. All that posturing made for some tense moments at the Goodie Bowl, even though the contents had to be a little soggy.

All that drama also made for some interesting bird watching and made me grab my camera, too.
