It was a lovely sunny winter day down at Valley Lake Conservation area today, and a couple of birds came into my zone while I waited patiently. I liked the stretching pose from this New Holland Honeyeater. Some tricky backlighting, but I liked the result.

I almost did not take a photograph of these flying tundra swans as the sun was directly behind them, but I actually like the sun shining through the wings

A slightly different shot, taken wide open of a backlit bluebell flower illuminated by the setting sun. Bluebell woods can be enchanting at this time of year.

The male is far more colorful than the female - hope you like this.

99234 makes a stunning ascent along one of the straights climbing the Brocken. This photo was taken about 45 minutes walk from Schierke station and as I could not find a way down the curve I used a telephoto lens to look down the sunny side of the train
