Another view of the road-side helianthus flowers I photographed last night, just before the sun set. I really love the flare in the upper left and the highlights on the flower petals and stems near it.

Last night after dinner the backlight was very nice and I found one aspen leaf that didn't have blight ....LOL........most of my aspen have a lot of black leaves due to many rains this summer...they are a pretty tree, but really are disease prone from all all kinds of stuff.
I used "fire work" setting on my camera to achive the rich red colors
In Vancouver between the side walk and the paved road in many places the city created small garden plots which is given to nearby residents to put plants in it and water them. Some of these gardens equals to a botanical garden with unique flowers.

Daffodil at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. Ruth Ann and I made our first visit of the year to the botanical garden (February has been our inaugural month in recent years), taking advantage of a beautiful spring day. The shade of the Woodland Path area of the garden provided the opportunity for this shot. Giving in to knees that don't take kneeling very well these days, I sat on the path to get a low perspective. While the backlighting keeps the orange cup from shining, I really like the delicate details of the petals.
