Timothy-grass (Phleum pratense), is an abundant perennial grass native to most of Europe except for the Mediterranean region. It is also known simply as timothy, or as meadow cat's-tail or common cat's tail. It is one of the Phleum genus, consisting of about 15 species of annual and perennial grasses.
It is probably named after Timothy Hanson, a U.S. farmer and agriculturalist said to have introduced it from New England to the southern states in the early 18th century. Upon his recommendation it became a major source of hay and cattle fodder to British farmers in the mid-18th century.

The day 8/21/17 the day of the great eclipse. My filter would not work for some reason so I sought out related lighting and got this as the sun came through the crabapple tree the light was crazy. I had heard of the shimmering effect of the totality but through the leaves it was a grand light show glad the filter didnt work so I could look at other angles of the light that day.

A peaceful stroll around Lac Blanc, nestled in the heart of the Vosges. Fresh snow blankets the peaks, having just fallen, still pristine. A true delight to wander through, to hear the soft crunch underfoot, and to give in to the urge to press the shutter. ❄️
Déambulation tranquille autour du Lac Blanc, niché au cœur des Vosges. La neige fraîche recouvre les sommets. Elle vient de tomber, immaculée encore. Un vrai plaisir de s’y promener, de laisser ses pas crisser sur le manteau blanc et de céder à l’envie d’appuyer sur le déclencheur. ❄️
