Used a colourful sunset to backlight this simple plant. Event the most simple things can be seen differently by changing the point of vue and taking advantage of the light.

pca262 WIT: I photographed my daughter Katy's hands as she practised. The afternoon light was lovely coming in through the coloured panes in the window. I also cleared some distracting background.

In pp I applied some selective blurring using the tilt-shift feature of photoshop.

This is an extremely difficult situation for any camera. Intense light from the window in the background usually makes any camera get the hickups. What happens is the camera sets the settings based on the light in the background. That makes the "main" object in the picture go all black/dark.

The Panasonic Lumix LX3 has some very sophisticated functions to handle this kind of situation in a good way. If this photo was shot with some other camera the whiskey bottle would've been all dark.

Not bad, and the brightness is adequate for a moderately lit room. It would benefit from better diffusion of the LEDs.

Trying to learn a little about backlight and how to process the shots.

It's still raining here most of the time but today I was lucky to get some sunshine. Now it's raining again. I really hope for a better summer soon.

The upper right of the yellow/red glass is where the modification is located. I don't think it reduced the contrast between the spots and the areas between the spots. It did dim the spots, and maybe that's enough to make the spots less noticeable?

She wanted to shoot here too. Wardrobe changes are to much trouble, so she put on her boots and wandered around like this.
