Just having fun with the ambient light... :-) Best seen large...

A beautiful sunset in Pietra De Giorgi, Oltrepò Pavese. I like this backlight photo because the light was very warm and the clouds made the sky very expressive.

High season for bees and blossoms in my backyard.

A day visit to the Lincolnshire town of Stamford gave me opportunity to add to my stranger project. The town is very picturesque being made up of 17th and 18th century stone buildings, older timber-framed houses and five medieval churches. It is built on the River Welland.

After an overcast morning the sun came through for a glorious afternoon, bathing buildings and people in superb light. A side lit church caught my attention as a possible background, and two girls walking towards me backlit and haloed in a stunning blaze of auburn hair made it impossible for me not to ask if they would be willing to participate in my stranger project.

I had to work quickly as the pathway was narrow and we were blocking the pavement for other visitors to Stamford. As I wanted to utilize the beautiful backlight I used a reflector, held by a friend, to put some light back into Lucy’s face.

Lucy is still studying and her favourite subject is graphic design. She also enjoys playing the piano. Sticking with the musical theme Lucy told me she’s a big fan of Tom Odell. I then asked Lucy what she likes best about Stamford and she told me the charity shops, the worst is the traffic, particularly in the tourist season.

Thank-you once again Lucy for agreeing to be part of my 100 Stranger project.

Another portrait of a cute Amur tiger, but this time in back light (against what was outside, much brighter), but the picture is still technically good.

the subject was captured with a tilt-shift lens. I have used a lateral tilt at open aperture. You can see the close focus range of the diagonally running across all three leaves.

post processing workflow: lying on the couch next to my TV looking wife. I have loaded the RAW file direct into the IPAD2. Open it with NIK-Snapseed. Its like a child play to work with color, contrast and texture layer here.

The crepe myrtles are still in full bloom in our yard.

First test roll, shot with my new Zorki 4k. A Russian Leica copy.

Although it's a good camera, I think I like the handling of my FED-3 a little bit better. The FED-3 is a bit more basic. I like that better.

Also I tore my film at the last frame while advancing. :-S And I didn't even notice it. I'm just wondering if it is my clumsiness, or because this Russian camera is build like a tank. Better be more careful next time.

I was surprised to see how much latitude film actually has.

I accidently underexposed a few shots because I read my new light meter wrong. Though, I don't see any difference with my other shots.

ENGLISH

The agustinian Monastery of Sant Jaume de Frontanyà is located in center of the town of the same name, in the Catalan region of the Berguedà.

In 11th century it was constructed to welcome the community of Sant Jaume Vell, who was in badly condition at the top of the mountain. One knows that in 1066 already they were in the new construction. The lords of the place made great donations, arriving have six canons and one prior. From the death of its last prior Arnald Fresc, in 1395, its decay began, since the commandatary priors began to adapt rents that had the monastery. The extinction of the monasteries of the order of San Agustín in Catalonia in 1592, caused that it passed to depend on the bishopric of Solsona.

CASTELLANO
