Sunset in the countryside of isle of skye

For once I'd approached Peaseland Rocks from the valley below, and I'd hoped, and was rewarded, with some lingering valley mist as I walked back to Milldale

Campanula Adansa Purple, a cultivar of Campanula poscharskyana

- Campanula poscharskyana (Serbian bellflower, trailing bellflower) is a semi-evergreen trailing perennial, valued for its lavender-blue star-shaped flowers, native to the Dinaric Alps in former Yugoslavia.

It grows shoots along the ground, about 20–25 cm (7.9–9.8 in) long, which then turn upward, placing the flowers about 10 cm (3.9 in) above ground. Flowers are lavender-blue and bloom from mid-spring to early autumn.

I am obsessed by this tree. These flowers are so cool. I love going back to this tree and finding new angles to shoot from...

The trees were still dripping following a HARD, late day summer downpour- and then the sun came out! I was almost home from my walk when I spied this clump of Queen Anne's Lace , backlit- and you KNOW how much I love backlight! I am sure it is very possible to overdo the shots of the sun shot on my phone, but it is still new and exciting and interesting! Please forgive- and enjoy!!

This street in backlight is a typical street with side to side placed historical houses in the small town of Edam, 2016.

Thank you very much for your visits, faves, and kind comments.

Edam (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈeːdɑm] ( listen)) is a city in the northwest Netherlands, in the province of North Holland and nearby Volendam. Approximately 7,380 people live in Edam.

Edam is famous as the original source of the cheese with the same name.

The city of Edam was founded around a dam crossing the river E or IJe close by the Zuiderzee now known as the IJsselmeer. Around 1230 the channel was dammed. At the dam goods had to be loaded onto other vessels and the inhabitants of Edam could levy a toll. This enabled Edam to grow as a trade town. Shipbuilding and fishing brought Edam more wealth.

Count Willem V of Holland gave Edam city rights in 1357. One of the reasons he did this was because of the war between the Hoeken and the Kabeljauwen. They fought a battle for the rule over the cities of Holland.
