Check it out! Work has started on my new 'fence'. It is really a wall on the property line. (Concrete Blocks)
Wood just does not hold up out here. The wood fences get blown down in the spring when the amazing winds come.

After installation of the aerobic waste water treatment system, the backhoe guy attempted to backfill and clean up, but there were so many rocks that there was really no way to clean up the mess. The largest rocks were placed on the property so I could mow around them, but it would take at least a couple of years to really clean up the mess along the sprinkler portion of this water treatment system.
A few photos I took back in September, when the machines had taken over High Street just north of Hudson.
I never see these being brought in to a construction site. I like to imagine they put wheels on the bottom and pull it by that bar.
Route 59 in West Nyack is undergoing extensive work in 2010 to replace a low bridge over King's Highway. The existing bridge has an exceptionally low clearance and is regularly struck by trucks ignoring the height limits. Before the work begins, construction crews need to finish a crossover lane that will allow eastbound traffic to choke to one lane, cross over into the left westbound lane, go over the Hackensack River , and then return to the eastbound lanes. While preparing the crossover lane, I caught this backhoe operator dozing off. I don't want the poor guy to get in trouble; frankly I don't blame him, there were probably 20-30 supervisors there to make sure each bucket load was excavated with perfect compliance to safety regulations. Your taxes at work.
