This orchid was actually outdoors, but I was able to pick my angle so that there was a black background (I think it was a black cover over a gas grill). Cropped to 16x9 for use as a desktop background

These are pics of things that I've taken over the last couple of years. Not much to look at here, but a couple of Photoshop filters and you got great PPT slide backgrounds or whatever...add some salt or pepper and you have breakfast!

I really wanted to go out and shoot something specifically for this, but I'm out of time. These four are from recent archives instead.
I'll never forget that day in June 2006 when this Tawny Emperor (IDed by lakeoshare) landed right on Dad's hand and then sat on the end of his finger so I could try to get a shot. I didn't know what kind of butterfly it was back then. I didn't have experience enough to try to move around and get that white wall out of the background.
