I did have a steam and fence shot, but I've left that at home, this one is a reminder of the snow just before Christmas so festive and now just a distant memory it would seem.

Got knocked back from a fence group last week, so this one is a little more obvious:) hope it is ok.

Happy fence Friday!

In general, I love winter. It is extremely photogenic season. But today the cold hit us. Unpleasant wind and freezing rain, not snow, turned the car into a frozen cube of ice, wind gets everywhere, there's no wintery white and no matter how hard I'm trying, I feel cold and miserable. So I've decided to post a warmer picture today.

This flittery butterfly would lite on our limone tree but would not be still for a second..my first Swallowtail shot this season...

I can hear you but I won't

Some look for trouble while others don't

There's a thousand reasons I should go about my day

And ignore your whispers, which I wish would go away, oh-oh-oh

You're not a voice

You're just a ringing in my ear

And if I heard you, which I don't

I'm spoken for, I fear

Everyone I've ever loved is here within these walls

I'm sorry, secret siren, but I'm blocking out your calls

I've had my adventure, I don't need something new

I'm afraid of what I'm risking if I follow you

Into the unknown

Into the unknown

What do you want? 'Cause you've been keeping me awake

Are you here to distract me so I make a big mistake?

Or are you someone out there who's a little bit like me?

Who knows deep down I'm not where I'm meant to be?

Every day's a little harder as I feel my power grow

Don't you know there's part of me that longs to go

Into the unknown

Into the unknown

Where are you going?

Don't leave me alone

How do I follow you

Into the unknown?

……But deep down still ticks like a good one! This much loved Mantle Clock belonged to my Granddad George Busby Noon, I well remember him winding it up every week 50 or 60 years ago! No wish but to dive in deep

What’s it to be done

No breath to hold in deep

What’s it to be done

In a sea within a whirlpool, I am

No wish to answer to anyone

What’s it to be done?

we saw this blond male a few times in Mara North Conservancy, while he was in the company of a female of a small pride. Initially she refused to mate with him but we heard afterwards that they were seen while mating.

No sit-in here, but there have been several in Union Square in the past.Historically, most marches,sit-ins,and protests have been on the northern end of the intersection. The people in the shot are most likely students from NYU taking their lunch period, although some also live in dorms in the area. They're sitting on steps in the southern end of Union Square Park where protests have been as of late.Love those street lamps:-) Union Square:Colonial-end Crossroads forgotten-nyc.com,Jul 2nd.Check out this great link.I like the one with all the cool fedora hats occupiedmedia.us/2012/03/a-brief-history-of-union-square-...

………But there was no show - Spiderman was obviously off on the World wide Web somewhere! Just have to make do with boring old Moths then, who for some reason seem to fly off when Batty Bat comes out to play!! For the interested I created this Spooky Tabletop shot by simply Bluetac'ing a wobbly translucent toy bat on to my Mac screen, whilst displaying a Web shot I took at Tarn Hows (Cumbria) and ‘Click’ this ‘Spooky Night’ shot was taken! The eyes were added using the Radial Filter tools in Lightroom 6. Don’t be too frightened and do have a Happy Smile On Saturday folks. Alan:-) HSoS…….

As I was driving into work, the morning sun was making its way thru the mist and fog, trees are just starting to burst with color and I couldn't help myself but to pull over and take it all in. I drove up on this ridge and parked. I walked up to the open gates and noticed several small spider webs, glistening from the dew in the morning sun and started snapping away, I was very excited to see these come out so well on my iPhone. Tiny moments otherwise unwitnessed, my "stopping to smell the roses" moment.

But I know I live half alive in the world,

Half my life belongs to the wild darkness.

This is not fair....they have built the country, and this is what they get.

"But is that true? Because a tree in spring buds and comes greenly into leaf, are those leaves therefore the tree? If the newborn twigs and their leaves were all that existed, they would form a vague halo of green suspended in mid-air, but surely that is not the tree. The leaves, by themselves, are no more than trivial fluttering decoration. It is the trunk and limbs that give the tree its grandeur and the leaves themselves their meaning. There is not a discovery in science, however revolutionary, however sparkling with insight, that does not arise out of what went before. 'If I have seen further than other men,' said Isaac Newton, 'it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants." — Adding a Dimension: Seventeen Essays on the History of Science, by Isaac Asimov.

Admittedly, it was a big crop, but it was really nice to see the adult and the young eaglet be in the same space. I wonder what the adult might have been communicating to its offspring?

On the higher mountains the first snow has fallen, but here around this meander of river the last colors of autumn are resisting. I think it deserved a photo.

Sulle montagne più alte è caduta la prima neve, ma intorno a questo meandro del fiume resistono le ultime cromie autunnali; credo meritassero una foto.

Calm seas today, but tomorrow? Well, it may be tough, with Great Southern Ocean storm waves ripping into the rugged limestone cliffs of Great Ocean Road, Victoria, Australia.

But, these rock butts help protect the foreshores, as tough and hardened having weathered 1000s of storms.

You can see his cliff face is determination plus and no-nonsense. The millions of green plants nearby clap his every move, which also grow on top of his long hard head!
