foraging at the edge of the Ariporo River in Llanos Orientales in Colombia.
This river is a part of the Orinoco River basin.
A shy species that is found in shallow water or on banks of rivers. When alarmed it flies only a short distance most of the time.
The patterns on the wings in flight are very beautiful.

It has been a rather dull day weatherwise but the Dragon had to check occasionally if the situation had changed. As a well trained cat owner I therefore opened the backdoor quite often for him today.

But as autumn approaches, certain influences both inside and outside the plant cause the chlorophylls to be replaced at a slower rate than they are being used up. During this period, with the total supply of chlorophylls gradually dwindling, the "masking" effect slowly fades away. Then other pigments that have been present (along with the chlorophylls) in the cells all during the leaf's life begin to show through. These are carotenoids they give us colorations of yellow, brown, orange, and the many hues in between.
The reds, the purples, and their blended combinations that decorate autumn foliage come from another group of pigments in the cells called anthocyanins. These pigments are not present in the leaf throughout the growing season as are the carotenoids. They develop in late summer in the sap of the cells of the leaf, and this development is the result of complex interactions of many influences - both inside-and outside the plant. Their formation depends on the breakdown of sugars in the presence of bright light as the level of a certain chemical (phosphate) in the leaf is reduced.
But in the fall, phosphate, along with the other chemicals and nutrients, moves out of the leaf into the stem of the plant. When this happens, the sugar-breakdown process changes, leading to the production of anthocyanin pigments. The brighter the light during this period, the greater the production of anthocyanins and the more brilliant the resulting color display that we see. When the days of autumn are bright and cool, and the nights are chilly but not freezing, the brightest colorations usually develop.
Another Love - Tom Odelll - Listen
I wanna take you somewhere so you know I care
But it's so cold and I don't know where
I brought you daffodils in a pretty string
But they won't flower like they did last spring
And I wanna kiss you, make you feel alright
I'm just so tired to share my nights
I wanna cry and I wanna love
But all my tears have been used up
On another love, another love
All my tears have been used up
On another love, another love
All my tears have been used up
Interested, but not interested enough to go outside and check...

Online photo exhibition is the last 3 days! For details, check the description. I was planning to actually exhibit it at a gallery in Tokyo in April, but it was postponed at the request of the government.
COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2 is attacking all over the world. Japan is no exception, and everyday is becoming more difficult. As a photographer, I also thought about life and postponed the exhibition according to the government's request. The Japanese government does not support artists. So I decided to hold an online photo exhibition. This is free to watch.
The photo exhibition should be in the dark in the room at night, preferably with the playlist. Look at the brightness of mobile terminals at 1/3.
Thank you for your support. Thanks to everyone, we had more access than in Japan. Thank you. Last but not least, I would be happy if you could share the URL of the photo exhibition on your SNS. Thank you!

No one said that tears do not escorreriam by the face, but smiling maybe you can use those tears as spiritual cleansing and let it rain. Rain until the sun reappears and overflow you from light. No one said that you would be able to see clearly everything around you, but smiling maybe you will rediscover the path after tripping a few times. Nobody said it would be easy and its not!.
"Merlins are small, fierce falcons that use surprise attacks to bring down small songbirds and shorebirds," according to allaboutbirds.org. Maybe that explains why I spotted this Merlin perched high in the treetops at Chicago's Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary, a place where lots of songbirds pass through during Spring migration. The scientific name for these predators, which are only about the size of a pigeon, is Falco columbarius.
Karlovka Obora or Charles Park is a little off the normal tourist track but well worth a visit. Miles of pathways to follow, streams, bridges, swimming in the lake even a raft to pull yourself across to a small island. Standard joke for the children when we where there seemed to be get to the island, then refuse to come back. Always seemed to be a reluctant parent having to cross & gather up the children. The ice cream seller always stops at the raft, which seems to empty the island,a great sales technique. Over the last few years Prague counsels have declared that a percentage of all parks have to be plant for wildlife, hence you now see large areas turned over to wildflower meadows which is fantastic & visually much better than just green grass. The area where this shot was taken was about the size of half a football pitch
“But many of us seek community
solely to escape the fear of being alone.
Knowing how to be solitary is central to the art of loving.
When we can be alone, we can be with others
without using them as a means of escape.”

Last but not leat we arrive at the former small fishing village of Arromanches-les-Bains.
After the invasion this village turned into a busy logistic centre, due to the construction of the artificial "Mulberry harbor".
All Allied troops were supplied frome here.
The remains of this harbor are still visible off the coast.

In general, I love winter. It is extremely photogenic season. But today the cold hit us. Unpleasant wind and freezing rain, not snow, turned the car into a frozen cube of ice, wind gets everywhere, there's no wintery white and no matter how hard I'm trying, I feel cold and miserable. So I've decided to post a warmer picture today.
No wish but to dive in deep

No breath to hold in deep

In a sea within a whirlpool, I am
No wish to answer to anyone
What’s it to be done?

I don't do selfies too often but when I woke up on the morning of 21 September and saw the beautiful morning light I knew I had to make this shot. So there you have it, my official birthday selfie with my new ride, a Triumph Street Twin 900.
FYI: I rode mini-bikes and dirt bikes in my youth and as they say, "I've still got it", but it has been a while. The only thing weird is when I'm riding on the street, I don't have to keep an eye out for the police. I have taken the state written test to obtain a permit so I can ride legally but this weekend I'll be taking a state sponsored Safety Course. Two full days and in the end, given I pass and I will, I'll get a waiver that the state recognizes in lieu of their testing.

Strange, but last picture of the series of this day was done at #Wik #castle.
It is kind of interesting story. My friend phoned me and asked if I have been there, I said no... We went to visit this amazing castle on the lake of #Ekoln.
