UltraStar Cinemas (now Digiplex Destinations) Mission Valley, San Diego, home to both the San Diego Asian Film Festival and San Diego Latino Film Festival since 2001.
This theatre was originally the Mann Hazard Center 7 Theatres, then was operated by the short-lived Madstone chain for two years. It has been an UltraStar house from 2005 until late 2012, when Digiplex parent Digital Cinema Destinations Corporation acquired ownership of this theatre as well as most other UltraStar houses.
In May 2010 this theatre was given a death sentence by the San Diego City Council as part of the approval of a project to build housing units in the Hazard Center complex, where the theatre resides. Plans called for the theatre to be demolished to build a parking lot; the whole project, however, was put on hold over environmental issues and the theatre may be spared after all.
