The Raye opened on 6.29.1938. Apparently the theater did have some neon but none has survived. The theater has been renovated and I believe it is still open. Hondo,Texas. 9.29.2016.

This is Pre Covid London. Hopefully box offices will be buzzing again soon.

Take care out there.

The modern, glass extension to the lovely, old Royal Lyceum Theatre, at night. These are actually handheld night shots.

was using the mini-tripod more like a monostick, to give me a better, less shaky grip, and between that and the light coming from the glass structure, it worked. I shot one in B&W and another angle in colour, to capture the contrasting yellow banner hanging from it for the Edinburgh International Festival.

The Edna Theater opened in 1950 and closed in the late 1970s or early 1980s. A new owner has restored the exterior and saved the sign (it looks phenomenal) and is working on the interior. I believe the plan is to turn it into an event center. Edna, Texas.

The Sir Ken Dodd Happiness Centre

The Sir Ken Dodd Happiness Centre will create a new iconic heritage visitor attraction in Liverpool city centre connected to Liverpool’s Royal Court Theatre. It will celebrate Liverpool’s rich comedy heritage, explore the important role of humour in the city’s renowned resilience and embody the ethos and values of Liverpool’s greatest entertainer, Sir Ken Dodd. The project will create four floors dedicated to happiness, health and wellbeing with bar, café, studio and exhibition spaces all overlooking the magnificent St George’s Hall and gardens.

On Saturday we went to Santa Cruz for dinner at a Greek restaurant. After that we headed north to the Shark Fin Cove, named after a big rock in the sea that looks like a shark's fin. On the way back we passed Santa Cruz again, this time for coffee. The downtown area is lively at night. Behind me a band was playing on wooden xylophones.

I processed a balanced and a soft HDR photo from a RAW exposure, merged them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

Fringe box office in Bristo Square, by Edinburgh University. Normally this square is filled with students and youngsters on skateboards using the space, but during the Festival in August it is filled with pop-up venues for performances and for drinking (the old joke is that almost very spare broom cupboard is pressed into services as a Fringe venue in August).

Quick night shot with the phone as I was passing on my way to the nearby Edinburgh International Book Festival (the Edinburgh International Festival, Fringe and the Book Fest are already on, with the Film Festival starting later this week - it's all go in Edinburgh in August!)

The State opened on October 27, 1938 and showed movies at least until 1990, according to info found on Cinema Treasures. Today the completely refurbished State hosts special events. Gainesville,Texas. 6.13.2017
