HUMPHREYS GARRISON — In an effort to educate Soldiers throughout the Humphreys Garrison about the workings of Better Opportunities for Single (and Unaccompanied) Soldiers, the first BOSS Awareness Day was held, May 21, in the area behind the Super Gym. Sporting events, games, prizes and food were the highlights of the day, but the main purpose of the event was to raise awareness of the BOSS program and what it does to improve the quality of life for Soldiers. Competing in events such as Oversized Boxing (above) were Spc. Stephanie Mason and Pvt. Tyler Hutchison, assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3-2 General Support Aviation Battalion and Pfc. DeSean Anderson, of Bravo Company, 602nd Aviation Support Battalion, riding the mechanical bull (right above). At the registration table, attendees could sign up for the “I A.M. A Boss Buddy,” program, where Soldiers volunteer on Friday and Saturday nights of payday weekends, from 11:30 p.m. to 4 a.m., to make sure nobody walks home alone. They were joined by the local Army Substance Abuse Program and the United Service Organizations, which provided various giveaways. The ASAP folks also brought along the “Fatal Vision” goggles (bottom right) for Soldiers to use while riding tricycles through an obstacle course.

This 1970 Boss Mustang was brought in for a light exterior restoration. This one was not in too bad a condition, it was an older restoration that was starting to show its age. We performed some light body work and refinished the car in the original Acapulco Blue and reinstalled the Boss Stripes. We also installed a new flue tank and flue lines.
This one turned out great and will make a great addition to any collection.

Bella lets the tortoises know she's the boss.
(and she really thinks she is boss, I've seen her drag these poor creatures across the yard - no unattended outdoor play for her yet)

The tail lights are one of the signature parts of a Mustang and I made sure I captured that classic look.

I was lucky to get this shot in between rain drops on a wet, damp, moist Friday afternoon...
The 125km-trip back to Hanoi took 3,5 hours. The Sprinter-van drove some 35 km/h and at a shutter speed of 1/3200 that means 3mm for every exposure. I used the “hazy” old manual 50mm 1.4; an impossible lens, very hard to focus, but a lens that I love all the same.
On the way to Mai Chau I became fascinated by the narrow (4-5 meters) two- or three-story buildings with a colorful face and open space towards the street. On the trip back I tried to do some architectonic drive-by photography and this resulted in a series of un-staged “freeze frames” of Vietnam.
In the Mai-Chau-to-Hanoi-album the photos are organised chronologically, driving into Hanoi from the countryside, a rain shower halfway.

BOSS is a line of coffee drinks by Suntory, and Tommy Lee Jones has appeared in so many ads for them that he's become known as "the Boss" himself to some people. In the TV commercials, he plays "Alien Jones," an alien who has assumed the form of Tommy Lee Jones to investigate human life.

On his first trip to West Point, the “Cake Boss” presented a giant chapel cake for the Cadet Chapel Centennial celebration on June 11. A TLC production crew captured the presentation for a Season Three episode of “Cake Boss” which aired Nov. 15.
Took this shot when I was bored. I've always loved how this cologne looked. I really like the shiny surface and the interesting shape.
I took this shot using a few pieces of A4 paper to for the white background and the sides. The flash was placed behind the background fired at 1/16th power triggered by Phottix Stratos.
