This was a senior portrait I took for Andy Ridolphi in Iron River, MI. Back near some old buildings was this old car that I wanted Andy to pose with. The final product ended up looking like a mob boss photo.
Boss Hoss is a motorcycle company, founded by Monte Warne in 1990 and based in Dyersburg, Tennessee. The company manufactures motorcycles and trikes equipped with V8 engines, produced by General Motors, and semi-automatic transmissions.
From fairly early in their history, Boss Hoss has sold trikes with rear ends designed to look like smaller facsimiles of Chevrolet Corvettes, 57 Chevys, 32 Low-boy hot rods, or other distinctive cars. At some point, the Corvette rear end was discontinued and replaced with a narrowed 7 1/2" Ford truck rear end. As of 2005, the trikes have a new three-speed transmission that takes advantage of the extra stability and rear axle of a trike configuration.

CAMP HUMPHREYS — Members of the Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers program conducted free vehicle inspections here, May 11-12, as part of Military Spouse Appreciation Day.
About 10 BOSS volunteers with vehicle maintenance knowledge provided the inspections in the main Exchange parking lot.
Specialist Christopher Dant, a BOSS representative with the 348th Quartermaster Company, said, “We are here to offer free services and raise awareness, and also let people know that we take care of each other here at Camp Humphreys.”
Dant and others checked fluid levels, lights, wipers, belts and tires. The service was meant to show spouses that their contributions are recognized and appreciated, according to Spc. Kareen Medeiros, president and Area III coordinator for the BOSS program.
“Military spouses are deserving of our recognition and this is our way of giving back,” she said.
While the main focus was on spouses, Medeiros said others were given the service as well.
“We have had senior enlisted Soldiers and civilians asking if we can check their cars and we have provided inspections to them,” she said.
“And it won’t just be a one-time deal,” Medeiros added. “We plan to hold this event every quarter to show appreciation for military spouses.”
After the inspections, spouses were given vehicle inspection sheets outlining any deficiencies found and encouraged to take their vehicles to the Auto Skills Center to make any repairs. Spouses were also given free car wash tokens.

HUMPHREYS GARRISON — In an effort to educate Soldiers throughout the Humphreys Garrison about the workings of Better Opportunities for Single (and Unaccompanied) Soldiers, the first BOSS Awareness Day was held, May 21, in the area behind the Super Gym. Sporting events, games, prizes and food were the highlights of the day, but the main purpose of the event was to raise awareness of the BOSS program and what it does to improve the quality of life for Soldiers. Competing in events such as Oversized Boxing (above) were Spc. Stephanie Mason and Pvt. Tyler Hutchison, assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3-2 General Support Aviation Battalion and Pfc. DeSean Anderson, of Bravo Company, 602nd Aviation Support Battalion, riding the mechanical bull (right above). At the registration table, attendees could sign up for the “I A.M. A Boss Buddy,” program, where Soldiers volunteer on Friday and Saturday nights of payday weekends, from 11:30 p.m. to 4 a.m., to make sure nobody walks home alone. They were joined by the local Army Substance Abuse Program and the United Service Organizations, which provided various giveaways. The ASAP folks also brought along the “Fatal Vision” goggles (bottom right) for Soldiers to use while riding tricycles through an obstacle course.
