Trees, Blossom, Fruit, Berries and other Flora
This is the start of another collection, this time of Flora that we’ve come across on our many walks or visits across the country. Hope you will enjoy them as I did.
I have also started Spring early, it got a bit cold and I wanted to look forward to a warmer time.
Nothing lifts the spirits more than a glimpse of blossoming boughs, with pretty pink or white petals, these harbingers of spring mark the changing of the seasons. Their beauty may be ephemeral, but luckily there’s a succession of flowering trees, both ornamental and productive.
“Like a flower, we blossom when the conditions are right.”

Starting today from our Phoenix terminal, but had some time while my truck was getting a couple of tires replaced. Was happy to find a few trees with blossoms. I wish I had more time to explore.

From Easter day at Skylands Botanical Garden, New Jersey. It was a very large and stately tree, I think they are cherry blossoms.
An older shot ... but I am excited again to try and catch the bees at the blossoms. Last year was not as lucky as work did not allow me the time when the bees and blossoms were out at the same time ... also there were not many bees last year. Hope they make a come back this year. Should know in another week or so.

And granted these little blossoms are on a Winter Flowering Cherry tree (Purnus subhirtella 'Autumnalis') so they are early bloomers. But they generally don't pop until the late Winter/early Spring. I've never seen them bloom this early in the Winter. Let alone in New England.
