Two days by candlelight after a wild winter storm. Friends came to visit from places harder hit. Hard to know what to do after the sun goes down.
on the day of a nationwide power blackout in spain, nothing moved. trains halted. metros silenced. public transport vanished into stillness. this was captured in estación de príncipe pío, madrid — just west of plaza de españa. people descended into the station, hoping for a way forward, but came back up again, directionless. i wanted to hold onto that moment — a visual metaphor for motion interrupted, for looking down the line and seeing only your own shadow walking out.

Due to a large power outage on 23rd December 2022 at 11.07 pm large parts of the city of Haarlem were dark. Only the cars driving by gave some light.
The power outage lasted until 24th December 2022 at 3.28 am.

Riding an elevator down to the main floor and forgot to change my sunlight settings before hitting the shutter.
Didn't realize as I caught this bolt looking back towards Highfields that this bolt had taken our power out for the night
