It started with a big black "X"- which is just to the left, out of crop here. Over the space of a couple of years, all my teenage PR friends would add to this masterpiece. Lots of forgotten bands and catchphrases from the time.
I ended up having to paint over it in about '84 to sell the house. I wanted to leave it but the realtor insisted.

By the way, the answer to the question of "Will we be here?"... Is no. In just 2 years, we're pretty much not hanging out with any of the people who came up here. Some stopped coming over. Some stopped getting invited. Some were removed from our lives for hanging out with murderers and inviting us over to a specific murderer's house that they know we would have a problem with. Some didn't get invited back because they broke our fucking ceiling by being too pathetically naive to know that you can't just sit on a ceiling, they aren't made of wood, you'll break drywall. Do people not understand what a ceiling is? Fucker broke my ceiling, and when I told him not to sit there, looked at me incredulously and actually said, "Really?", like I was being some kind of inhospitable host. He moved away. It took us like well over a year to fix the huge crack he left in our ceiling, which we'll be able to discern in annoyance for the rest of our lives. To sarcastically quip at a host telling you not to do a thing you are doing that is breaking his fucking ceiling? Dick move, Alex. If people are too stupid to not break your shit, there's no reason to bring them into your home.

BACKSTORY: We took pictures of the graffiti that people left in our attic during past parties.
We went in both attics for a few parties, just because. Ended up with lots of writing up there. Didn't get around to photographing it until ~7 months later.

Before Punk rock got wide public recognition it was in the womb of psychedelic rock born from crazy Yippies. The first and most praised Punk rocker who gave life to the genre was best known as Iggy Pop (Poppy of the Iguanas made Iggy Pop by the Stooges). Iggy Pop was of continual garage rock culture, later along came The Clash who because of joining Aerosmith on a single duet gave rise to the genre of Punk rock. By 1976 Punk emerged to the billboard public radio known as the mainstream media. Many punks were pissed off by this recognition and by such public exposure seeing as Punk rock opened its doors to countless hipsters. Soon after there was two kinds of Punk, Hollywood Punk (the mainstream punk rockers) and Hardcore Punk (the underground punks, real punks) who ended up in a factional fued but the hardcore punk faction collapsed after much turmoil and arguement especially violence. Many were then led to believe Punk was dead because the mainstream punks purged their hard work from existence. However The Exploited's 'Punk Isn't Dead' let everyone know they didn't vanish but hit a temporary stasis where they were isolated communally and suddenly returned. Because of the disaster that caused Punk Rock's fall they were forced to remake it entirely through Hardcore causing many old and original punks to fall under the poser line. Once filled with tipped hair and drabby clothes it began sporting mohawks, skater shoes and other aesthetics involving ripped jeans and patch'n'spike leather jackets. What's even more sad is that Fred Durst and his band Limp Bizkit sounded way more punk than alot of the mainstream babblers and they aren't even considered punk rock, hell they're nu-metal but lean closer to hardcore than all those sissies. Punk rock by the 90's began to have more skater punk bands as they originally introduced the skate boards that became a catchy culture. According to real punks today, most of the so-called punk rock bands on the mainstream from mall-punk to pop-punk are pure sissy posers who wear gay preppy clothes and even more homo fauxhawks. Avril Lavigne was known as the biggest poser of them all being all her music leaned pop-rock to plain pop, being the inherint idol of the 'preppy-punk' trend that followed; preppy-punks began wearing factory fresh jeans with intentional bleach stains circling ripped holes, along with that was black dress shirts with pink neck ties (hinting at Yuppiedom) and converse shoes met with easy grab cotton wristbands (winking at plastic manufacturing design); preppy-punks also listened to Avril as well as bubblegum punk bands (many who were actually emo bands) such as Good Charlotte, AFI, All American Rejects, American HiFi and Simple Plan. Punk rock has recovered from the sicky sweet teeny boppers making punk rock into a backwards version of Brittney Spears, they are making the same noise as they did before this inauthenticity. Now the punk rock factions have divided into parties, on the hardcore side sits the Liberal Punks and Satanic Punks whereas on the hollywood side sits the Skate Punks and the Hipster Punks. Liberal punks are the last real punk rockers now, satanic punks have pretty much gone nuts with the elitism! Skate punks are the only rebel punkers there are, hipster punks have all become a bunch of sissy scene punks. Punk rockers have also turned their focus to Indie punk which is a newer sort of punk rock but is not as psycho and less angry than all the shit that spawned in the past few years.
Black Flag at the Fireman's Hall in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. June 14, 1985. Henry was all giggly excited about his new back tattoo. Malcolm Tent tells me that Richard made the flag banner.
