This is one of the images in my project video " Architectural Reflections", where I took an image of a piece of architecture and made a reflection of it. The final image is creating a single image of the two images.

This one is based on the roof cover at the entrance to the International Swimming Pool in Cardiff Bay, in Wales.

Each of the modules has at least 3 connection points to create numerous combinations throughout the nation. All of them start with the command center and the auxiliary modules are attached to varying points. The three different options shown are just a few of the possibilities.

The outline of our Galaxy, the Milky Way, and of its neighbouring Magellanic Clouds, in an image based on housekeeping data from ESA’s Gaia satellite, indicating the total number of stars detected every second in each of the satellite's fields of view.

Brighter regions indicate higher concentrations of stars, while darker regions correspond to patches of the sky where fewer stars are observed.

The plane of the Milky Way, where most of the Galaxy’s stars reside, is evidently the brightest portion of this image, running horizontally and especially bright at the centre. Darker regions across this broad strip of stars, known as the Galactic Plane, correspond to dense, interstellar clouds of gas and dust that absorb starlight along the line of sight.

The Galactic Plane is the projection on the sky of the Galactic disc, a flattened structure with a diameter of about 100 000 light-years and a vertical height of only 1000 light-years.

Beyond the plane, only a few objects are visible, most notably the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds, two dwarf galaxies orbiting the Milky Way, which stand out in the lower right part of the image. A few globular clusters – large assemblies up to millions of stars held together by their mutual gravity – are also sprinkled around the Galactic Plane.

Just got back from vacation to the Midwest, this is the Milwaukee Art Museum, located on the shores of Lake Michigan. Since the Milwaukee Lakefront faces East, this is a sunrise. (I hate waking up early). I was able to get some really great shots on my vacation, and they are very different from my typical images due to the different landscapes in the Midwest vs. the West Coast. This was the first morning, so I figured I would post this image first.

The Quadracci Pavilion of the Milwaukee Art Center was built in 2001 by famous Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, and was also featured in the 2011 film: Transformers Dark of the Moon.

A few basic facts:

More than 14800 parts

Over 1000 hours of work (total project duration 1 year)

A lot of fun !

Overall, the scene is more filled than my Classic Space Outpost. But in a Blacktronbase is much going on.

Here is my last part of the Blacktron II special Forces series, as I imagine a base of evil guys. I could not fit all parts into this scene because there are just too many, but I am satisfied with the result. And I hope very much you like it.

Basing Wood - Basingstoke, Hampshire

This is a shot I took whilst down south visiting my family during the Christmas holidays. We were fortunate to have a couple of misty, foggy days and it's great to be shooting woodland in these conditions. This is Basing Wood in Basingstoke and I used to love playing army as a child in this wood along with wild camping. Such a lovely place on my parents door step.

To reach Everest Base Camp after eight days of a vigorous trek is an amazing feeling. To see the shimmering Khumbu icefall, the iconic yellow tents of EBC completely ensconced in a Colosseum of huge peaks & hustle & bustle on the approach is a magical moment alright. I laughed & choked at seeing the yellow tents; yes at the same time! :D
