I just love the colors she's wearing in this. They were begging me to highlight them.

After waking up at beautiful Lake Katherine, we packed up camp and headed over Windy Pass to camp our second night below Puerto Nambe.

You can make two different photos one concept by emphasizing the relationship between the two subjects of the photos. It is important to capture all of the similarities between the two objects you photograph. The viewer has to be able to recognize the relationship instantly or the photos do not have enough similarities. The concept behind this photo was what you carry with you everyday. The photo on the left is of my backpack with an asphalt background. It pairs very well with the grey on the backpack. The picture on the left is of the things that are in my backpack. I gave the photo a blue tint because it matched really well with the colors of the asphalt, backpack, and books.

We covered about 12.3 miles with our newest scouts backpacking on their first campout with the troop. New and old did a great job!

FISH and I went backpacking over the Labor Day weekend at Raven Rock State Park, NC. It was only about 2.5 miles into the campsite, but the campsite is 100% dry. Thus we had to hike out each day to refill water bottles. We also say Lanier Falls on the Cape Fear River, the lookout, and the famed Raven Rock. It was incredible.

Outdoor & Nature

Backpacking, Hiking, Camping at Sykes Hot Springs in Big Sur, CA located in Ventana Wilderness in May29-June 2, 2007 with friends. Took the Pine Ridge trail. 10 miles in & 10 miles out. They weren't kidding! We were joined by our dogs (Joni & Bernie). Soaking in the upper pool for 5 hours drinking beer and staring up the redwood groves. Roadtrip took about 6 hours. We camped at Washburn San Simeon State Campground near Hearst Castle. Drove up on 1- PCH to the Ranger Station. It was the best hot springs hike we have done in a loooong time. And it was worth it!
