This one is for my son. I enlarged this backpack because it seemed to small for my kid, but boy, was I wrong! Now it's too big, but he'll grow fortunately :-)
Wheelchair Backpacks
If youre a wheelchair user, you are aware how hard it is to find a traveling bag that effortlessly stowed and easy to access. Wheelchair backpacks are specially designed to work on with your chair but many of them are dull, bulky and seem like they were constructed in the Dark Ages. Its a sad truth but the area of the market that trades with wheelchair components is small and the range of wheelchair backpacks is not really very fashionable.

Put together the straps as you would a haversack or back pack and they can hang readily over the rear of a chair.
Trabasack have made a remarkable alternative to conventional wheelchair backpacks which are functional and chic enough to win a Style Award. As well as acting as a practical wheelchair backpack in which you can fit in all your gear, it is used an imaginative lap tray, for eating, drinking or laptop computers. There are many social occasions where you discover you need a surface to write on, hold your drink, or occasions when you can't find an easy to access table or one at the right height to get under. These are problems that wheelchair users meet every day. The Trabasack has a wonderful tray surface which lets you do any of the things you need. Your multifunctional bag can be comfortably placed on your lap, the soft bean bag cushion makes it comfy so there is no risk of pressure marks or sores. You then have a surface right there in front of you, to use for anything you choose.
this is the newest backpack i designed; it's smaller than the regular messenger backpacks, it's great for weekends and such. colours here are weimaraner for the main body, lemongrass trim and brown stiching.

Pack is 18 inches long and 7 1/2 inches wide with side panels 6 1/2 inches long and 3 1/2 inches wide. Gently curve the side panels and the flap.
Mark the sides 4 1/2 inches from the end of the flap. Then fold the flat end up to the first marks, and mark the fold. If you plan on folding the hem over, add fabric for that and put the second mark at 11 1/4 inches from the flap
The harness starts 1/2 inch below the flap (4 1/2 inch) mark, and is centered. All straps lay flat.
Sew the harness to the fabric before sewing the backpack shut!

Magnus has much improved after his stay with the trainer. She definitely had a much more effective approach to his behaviors than the first trainer we used. Is he perfect? No. Does he still need more work? Yes. Can people come over to visit us when Magnus is out? Yes. Could they prior to his month with her? No. Does he get to interact with visitors directly? Not yet. He needs to get comfortable with having them in our home. We are also working on using body language to claim areas. We randomly keep Magnus out of different parts of the house by holding our palms out by our side creating, if you will, an invisible barrier. The less he thinks the house is his, the less he will think he needs to protect us from strangers. Magnus views sitting on his elevated bed as his "job" to do when strangers are over. Bogart better not try to distract him or he turns his back to say that this isn't play time, it's work time. Glad he feels his role is important!
Now that Magnus is finally a year and a half old, we are introducing another "job" for him to do. And this time it involves a backpack. I'll have him wear a backpack out on walks. Walking has improved, too, from his time away at training. Once again, he's not allowed to directly interact with others yet, but that's fine. I have only tested his training in our neighborhood where we know people. Next Thursday will be a real test as we are meeting his trainer at a park with a walking trail. . . we shall see how that goes.
BTW, I only had my macro lens out with us, hence the "macro" of his backpack. We bought last year's Pallisades model on clearance. Quite the fancy pack! So far he's only been carrying his poop bags in it, hee hee, but in time he will be able to carry much more. Remember, in spite of his nickname, Tiny isn't all that tiny!
