Candid shot of a Capitol Hill Arts Workshop student in my Washington, D.C. photo class. Single dot focusing was on the rim of the student's lens but special attention was on the background, framing the subject in the doorway and using the photo of the wall to balance the image.

So called as, however long I 'tweaked', I couldn't get the three to work as cohesively as I wanted, they still seem to be isolated elements? Maybe Black Sabbath, loud, ain't the ideal editing accompaniment?

More or less as it came out -taken in full daylight but ended up with a nice dark background .

I fell into designing these abstract backgrounds completely by accident and it was suggested I continue doing these as there is a now a demand from scrapbooking hobbyists, and cardmakers whether they be amateur, semi-professional or full blown business. I am now in the process of uploading these to Flickr, but please be aware. THESE IMAGES ARE NOT PUBLIC DOMAIN, they belong to me and can only be used by you or anyone else after mutual agreement.

Background in warm tone. Rusted metal.

Images with a black background are extremely popular

and are highly requested in portrait photography because it gives a professional look to the images.

Portraits with black backgrounds are powerful because they do not distract from your subject. The viewer’s eye is not drawn away as it can be with a white background. On the other hand, portraits with white backgrounds are popular with designers. They lend well to having text and other graphics placed on top in editing.

High speed sync - a technique available to many modern cameras and flash units that makes a black background easily and quickly almost anywhere. (This shot was created before I had a flash capable if high speed sync; so it was actually taken in a dark room with a torch).

Fall Foliage Background

this is really my first real attempt to photograph the moon, so let me know your thoughts.

I'm a very joyous person. I'm also very insightful when observing other people's work.

It's come to my attention that some of my work lately has become a bit "dark". Perhaps my inner self is expressing my fear of the current political state that my country is in.
