Akseli (Axel) Gallen-Kallela (26 April 1865 – 7 March 1931) was a Swedish-speaking Finnish painter who is best known for his illustrations of the Kalevala, the Finnish national epic. His work was considered very important for the Finnish national identity. He changed his name from Gallen to Gallen-Kallela in 1907. (Wiki)

Was out for a scenic dawn shoot recently in the Rockies when this guy dropped by! We chatted for a bit when he landed beside us and I got his email to send him the shots I took of him! Axel in action!
An old photo buddy asked if I wanted to go take a closer look at the new Axel Towers. On the top floors there's a restaurant and cocktail bar. They kindly let us look around and take photos.

Leyland/Den Oudsten bus of the early 1970s on a regional service of operator ZVTM in Zeeuws Vlaanderen, the most southern part of the Dutch provincie of Zeeland. The bus is seen on the rather poorly equipped 'bus station' of that time in Axel
