Connexions Buses' S802 SJV is a Scania L94UB with Wright Axcess Floline bodywork. It was new in 1999 as Lincolnshire Road Car 802, later becoming Stagecoach East Midlands 28802.
In the final week of the 23 service, Scania L94/Wright Axcess Floline new to First Aberdeen passes over the River Kelvin. This was at one time the boundary between the city of Glasgow and the Burgh of Partick.
X461UMS is a Scania L94UB / Wright Axcess Floline B43F new to First Glasgow as SS153 in December 2000. Seen on Great Western Road carrying route branding for service 66 which connects East Kilbride to Mountblow every ten minutes throughout the day.
Coming up to 20 years old but still going strong is ex First Leeds 60133 which is seen here surviving for a little longer with ConneXionsbuses before retiring into preservation. Used mainly as a school bus for the 636H this sees normal service use if a bus brakes down. This was new to Rider York in 1995 to operate the Park & Ride services in York until 2002 where it was transferred to somewhere in West Yorkshire before moving to Leeds where it was withdrawn by First late 2014
I asked the driver to put up the 412 destination to York for the photo as this working is unlikely never to happen. This and 5385 are my favorite buses in the fleet
Ex First Eastern Counties - latterly at the now closed Northampton operation. Good to see First vehicles now being permitted further careers!

A solitary Scania....For many years, First Glasgow used to be a Scania enclave for single-deckers, building up a large fleet of Axcess Ultralows and Axcess Flolines. First at that time tended to split its bus orders between Scania’s and Volvo although at the turn of the millennium, it went more or less exclusively for Volvo to the detriment of Scania. Now, apart from some Scania’s in the training fleet along a with a quartet transferred from First Midland Bluebird the only other Scania’s in the fleet are those that were acquired when First acquired the services of Hutchinson’s of Overtown.
Hutchison of Overtown was a well respected independent operator based in Lanarkshire who’d built up a network of services in North Lanarkshire as well as Express Services to Glasgow. In April 2007 it’s local bus services passed to First Glasgow along with its modern fleet of Scania and Volvo buses such as 65755 (SK02ZYG) seen here. The buses are immediately recognisable by their gasket windows - as opposed to bonded on equivalent First bought buses - and their non-standard interiors. Having travelled on this bus, it’s still in fine fettle for its age, compared to an equivalent First Volvo B7L which is falling to pieces. Although that might have something to do the fact that Hutchinson’s looked after its buses and the Volvo’s are terrible buses.

For a short period Larkfield depot operated short workings on the 9 which started from the City Centre rather than Drumchapel. New to Strathclyde Buses as SS6, this was the first low floor bus purchased by the company and although all similar L113's have been withdrawn 61478 lives on as part of the training fleet.
Last operated by ConnexionsBuses near York and something of a celebrity in the fleet, Scania L113CRL Wright Axcess Ultralow N414 ENW is now owned privately by Josh Bickerstaffe and Matthew Thompson and is seen on its first attendance at a bus rally in preservation since passing its MOT in November 2017. Seen at Middlesbrough bus station with Chris Thompson (no relation to Matthew) driving.
A remarkable survivor, this bus was new in late 1995 to Rider York for Park and Ride duties as fleet number 8414 in a distinctive 2-tone blue livery (as had been used on M113SLS, a demonstrator which had been tried by Rider York and they obviously liked the livery so much they then adopted it) and was one member in the very first full batch of low floor buses for Yorkshire. Along with later additions as the P&R operation expanded, this stayed in York for 7 years until 2002 when the entire single decker York fleet had been replaced by inferior Volvo B7L's and B6BLE's - this bus moved to Potteries for a while beofre settling in the Leeds fleet. A rear-end collision almost spelled the end for this, however the decision was made to rebuild and repair to keep it in use. Upon reentering service with Firstgroup, it had been given the new Olympia livery and at the time was the oldest bus in passenger service to gain the livery. Withdrawn in late summer 2014, it was feared this would make a one-way trip to Barnsley - but instead was saved by Craig Temple of Connexions Buses (formerly known as Harrogate Coach Travel); initially bought for preservation, a full inspection revealled it's condition was simply too good for it to not see a bit more use in service. It was last used in stagecarriage service in November 2016 on service 13 in York. Currently in the early stages of its life in preservation, it will eventually be given it's Park and Ride livery back again in addition to destination equipment as close to original as possible (the side numeric display is still the original Bright Tech unit, and an original roller blind from the fleet has been provided by Andy Burbridge). Most of the interior trim is to original Rider York spec, though the seat padding has gone flat which is a bit expected after over 20 years of service use; ceiling speakers were provided and were connected to a PA system so the driver could announce the city centre stops, in the B7L's which replaced the Scanias this PA system was also connected to a radio receiver
Somewhat of a celebrity in the HCT fleet, Scania L113CRL Wright Axcess Ultralow N414 ENW is seen on February 11th leaving York rail station having managed to sneak onto the 13 service to Copmanthorpe. New rules which came into force at the start of 2016 meant older buses which were deemed not to comply with these rules (which includes colour contrasts of interiors and grab rails, seating spacing, the space between the enclosures of the wheelarches for the aisle, the turning area for wheelchairs etc) were to be withdrawn from public use with a grace period of about 25 days into January only - with such buses thereafter restricted to 'closed door' services including students-only school services, rail replacement, raceday shuttles, and services provided on behalf of a private client such as a supermarket. Currently a number of buses in the HCT fleet are up at Thornton bros in Northumberland being modified to be compliant which does mean there is a bit of a squeeze on available single deckers at the moment, so in the event of a vehicle not being available then this scania can pop out back into public use again. As such an occurance is now going to be somewhat sporadic, it is always worth getting a photo of it.

Back where it belongs, on the streets of York is Scania L113CRL Wright Axcess Ultralow N414 ENW running HCT service 13 to Haxby (which among enthusiasts is affectionately referred to as York's Heritage Bus Route).
However, with the DDA deadline at the end of 2015 looming ever closer its days of use on public service are very much limited. Craig may yet decide to keep this on the books for another year but only on 'Closed Door' school services, but whatever decision is made 8414 will be going straight into preservation locally as soon as it is withdrawn.
I took two photos of this as it heads over Ouse Bridge (a bridge it would have crossed many times when new on Park and Ride services, bearing in mind back then the routes were slightly different to today) and I couldn't make up my mind between the two which I prefer and so both have been uploaded. I had stood up on the stone wall of the bridge simply due to how many people and other vehicles there were going past me as I waited it made me think I honestly wouldn't get anywhere near a half decent photo of this here - and yet the road cleared up rather nicely... even the pigeons have gathered behind to watch this pass by!

The second batch of buses delivered to First Aberdeen Ltd in corporate FirstGroup "Barbie" livery arrived in November 1998.
Nos 550 - 561 (S550 JSE - S561 JSE), operated just over three years in the Granite City before transferring elsewhere as they were to become non-standard types in what was to become a Volvo dominated fleet.
The first withdrawals occurred in March 2001 (551 - 554) and by July that year all twelve buses had gone.
Nos 550 - 559 became First Glasgow No 1 Ltd Nos SS163, SS154 - SS162 (later 61567 - 61576), and Nos 560 & 561 became First Manchester Ltd Nos 178 & 171 (later 60222 & 60215).

Due to the closure of Govan Bus Station, a number of bus services in the area have been put on diversion. For example, the 121 (Govan - Govanhill/Victoria Infirmary) has been diverted along Helen St & Harmony Row.
61685 is seen on Golspie St headed north for Govanhill.
