To top off my awkward Tuesday I had this special moment in Starbucks.

For the September installment of First Friday at Fashion Denver (which will actually be on the second Friday because of Labor Day), we're doing "Back to School" as the theme and I'm going to be taking school portraits. To test the setup and get some promo photos, we had a quick photo shoot. We decided that the more awkward the expression and pose the better. Joe pulled it off pretty well.

As a side note, I know I didn't do a very good job in Photoshop of removing the background. That's OK for now, as this was just a test photo. The real deal will be super-slick! :)

What a nightmare! Dolls who won't stand up, dolls who shine in the sun, wind blowing hair across faces, insects landing on heads...I need to set up a spot to do this indoors!

We went to another party in our eighties garb. Alex wanted to document how tool-like we actually were.

Look at my awkward smiles.

You know that awkward tension when you don't know if someone else is going to hit the button, or if they are expecting you'll hit it.

Awkward moment 2: My tits creeping out of my bikini in the background.

Cameron wanted proof that we ate this food together. Of note: how big my t-shirt looks (?!) and Kellie's "Peace Tree" (invented on the spot). I also really like how it looks as though we all just finished heaping plates of brown slime.

Larger.

Not such a long exposure for once.

I didn't take this picture but I love it because it accurately represents my relationship with my sister and maid of honor at my wedding. We are always saying something that makes one of us look away with this funny introspective realization of how ridiculous we are and the other crack up at the hilarity and candor of our situation. I don't remember what was said but I can tell by looking at it, I've said something inappropriate on my big day. The photog may not have "got" it but I'm glad she got the shot. Everyone should have a photo that does this for them.

we set it as his desktop and came back later to find him just sitting there, staring.
