This image appears to have captured a precariously awkward moment for this young whitetail buck. In reality, he was executing a precision strike using his hind hoof on a pesky itch. Young buck coolness resumed immediately after this photograph was taken.

Taken during a meadow hike in the Big Meadows area of Shenandoah National Park (SNP). Whitetail deer (Odocoileus virginianus).

P.S.: I performed a cosmetic edit of the buck’s undercarriage to maintain my “safe” flickr rating :<)

this is not a photo of my legs. it is a photo of how close these total strangers came and sat next to me on the beach. i am literally touching their towel with my foot. lol lol
