It was an awesome day and my girlfriend and I had a great time hiking around and generally enjoying the beautiful scene.

I came back here 'cause it's mystical, it speaks to me of soviet sci-fi and envisioned alien cities. Tossed together some shaders to make something dreamlike, I think the bulk of it is from Gauss, Watchdog_tonemap for the coloring, but also tilt-shift.

A Slipper orchid to be (Paphiopedilum x maudiae ‘Femma’) was a Father Day’s present from my daughter. It was dormant showing only leaves for over 2 years until now (all credits to my wife for looking after the plant).
The genus is known the Venus Slipper orchids. The generic name originated from ‘Paphos’ – a city in Cyprus where, according to Greek mythology, Aphrodite was rose from the see landing, and ‘pedilon’ meaning ‘slipper’ in Ancient Greek. The species are native to countries in Southeast Asia and are under threat in the wild from poaching for profit.
Cultivars sold from orchid nurseries are grown individually from a seed and flowers can last up to 3 months, some longer. Bath. BANES, Somerset, England, UK

Sunrise at Lulworth Cove, Dorset. I was watching a Daniel Wretham vlog from Lulworth Cove and realised it was a quite a while since I had visited/photographed it so last 2 weekends I have visited to shoot/scout. The forecast was for a bit more cloud but it's always pot luck I find. Anyway ...could not resist a pano here to emphasise the cove rather than cropping a lot of sky/ground. This photo is an 11 shot pano (I like to overlap a lot!) - each photo bracketed to avoid the sun blowing out the highlights. As it turned out the sun was diffused by that bank of cloud so may not have needed so I may not have needed so many shots for the bracketing but I like to be safe. The guy top right must have had a lovely view!

One of the unique things about winter is that you frequently go to bed with the world looking one way and awaken to it looking completely different. All it takes is the right kind of snowfall to create a pure, white frosting on everything. We had the wonderfully unique combination of both fresh snow and a mild temperature yesterday.
