The Main Square of Ayllón (Plaza Mayor de Ayllón, Segovia, Spain) is one of the most beautiful squares in the area.
The photo shows the square's beautiful fountain; on the left is the Church of San Miguel, which is currently defunct and used for exhibitions; and on the right is the Ayllón town hall building.
The entire architecture of the city bears remnants of a significant medieval past.
The exact date of the city's founding is unknown, although it is believed that Ayllón was probably founded by the Arevaci.
It was later destroyed by the Romans under Marcus Fulvius Nobilior in 190 BC.
After the fall of the Roman Empire, the town was populated by Visigoths, Arabs, Castilians...
On October 31, 1411, during the regency of Catherine of Lancaster, the Treaty of Ayllón was signed between Spain and Portugal, ending the 1383-1385 crisis in Portugal and recognizing John I of Avís as King of Portugal.
On January 2, 1412, the so-called Laws of Ayllón (or Second Ordinance of Valladolid) were approved, which contained discriminatory measures against Jews and Mudejars.

LA FUENTE DE LA PLAZA MAYOR, 2025
La Plaza Mayor de Ayllón (Segovia, España) es una de las plazas más bellas de la zona.
En la foto se ve la preciosa fuente de la plaza, a la izquierda se ve la Iglesia de San Miguel, que actualmente no tiene culto y se usa para exposiciones y a la derecha el edificio del ayuntamiento de Ayllón.
Toda la arquitectura de la ciudad tiene restos de un importante pasado medieval.
Se desconoce la fecha exacta de la fundación de la ciudad, aunque se cree que Ayllón es probablemente de fundación arévaca.
Posteriormente fue destruido por los romanos bajo el mando de Marco Fulvio Nobilior en 190 a.C.
Tras la desaparición del imperio romano, la villa fue poblada por visigodos, árabes, castellanos...
El 31 de octubre de 1411, durante la regencia de Catalina de Lancaster, se firmó el Tratado de Ayllón entre España y Portugal, para poner fin a la crisis de 1383-1385 en Portugal y el reconocimiento de Juan I de Avís como rey de Portugal.
El 2 de enero de 1412 se aprobaron las llamadas Leyes de Ayllón (o Segundo Ordenamiento de Valladolid), que contenían medidas discriminatorias contra los judíos y mudéjares.

Le Rara Avis (littéralement « Oiseau Rare ») est une goélette à trois mâts de classe B. Il a été construit en 1957 aux Pays-Bas, au chantier naval de Terneuzen. Il est à coque acier noir et a la particularité d'être à fond plat, comme les barges anglaises de la Tamise et d'avoir un gréement marconi (ou voile bermudienne).
