This old service station at the corner of Plum and 4th Ave (formerly the northbound/eastbound lanes of U.S. Route 99/410) was Howard's Towing & Auto Repair until just a couple months ago.
My dad owned an auto repair business in San Francisco. His name wasn't Bob, but other than that he spent over 50 years working the wrench. Growing up, I spent a lot of time there. It was full of gritty grease, noxious fumes, and the deadening sounds of metal banging on metal. So, when I saw this humble living abode perched above Bob's Auto Service, I couldn't help but wonder what it must me like to live there--probably not relaxing--unless it's occupied by Bob. It might make a decent place for a heavy metal band to live and practice.

Williams is a town of about 5,000 people in Colusa County, about 60 miles (97 kilometers) north and a little west of Sacramento, and about 115 miles (185 kilometers) north and east of San Francisco. The area is mainly agrarian with the farms growing rice, almonds, tomatoes, walnuts, wheat and alfalfa.
I'm sure some of you know that a lot of Okies moved to the Central Valley in the 30s during the Dust Bowl. Though most of them settled in the south end of the valley near Bakersfield (hence the Bakersfield sound), many of them settled in the north end. I went to grade school with a couple of kids whose parents were from Oklahoma and their accents were pretty thick.

Happy Rainy Day! On my walk to school with my grandchildren today, I noticed this mix of oil and water combining to form art on the sidewalk.
Thanks for visiting and for your feedback. Enjoy your day
Toronto had its first snowstorm yesterday and we quickly remembered how beautiful it is and how many people forgot how to drive on snow roads resulting in many fender benders. My grandchildren are delighted with the snow! Taken from my window today, and added HDR effect
Thanks for visiting, enjoy your day.

For years this was a busy auto and truck repair shop; it closed some time ago and has been slowly falling into ruin ever since. Colonie, New York.
Reebar is Jaybar's cousin and a mechanic par excellence in Somewhereville. Reebar advertises himself as an auto therapist and prides himself on being able to establish a personal relationship with your car. Reebar told me my Suburu had a fear of speed bumps and needed to slow down and take life one bump at a time. It's best to carefully review those repair bills. Reebar tends to find problems you don't know even existed.
Image imagined in MidJourney AI and finished with Topaz Studio 2.0 and Lightroom Classic.
Got this shot off just in time in heavy traffic before the light turned green.
