The Lavender Farm at Terrington in the AONB Howardian Hills 12 miles north of York was started in 1994 by Nigel Goodwill when he sadly lost his wife Lynn to cancer the year before, and is still owned and run by the family today. Taken with a 1981 Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera Supercolor Autofocus on Polaroid (TIP) film. 'Road Week Autumn 2023 Day 2.
An interesting gizmo arrived last week, an adapter that provides Autofocus to old vintage lenses. Here is a test shot with the Takumar 50/1.4(8e) upon the Fujifilm XH2S using Face/Eye Detection.

Only found inshore on high cliffs at breeding time the fulmer is almost gull like but is related to the albatross.
At the breeding sites fulmers fly high up the cliff face using the updraughts. They feed in flocks out at sea gathering fish waste and crustaceans. Anyone going near their nests is liable to come away smelling rather foul as they spit a foul smelling oil to defend themselves.

Not much to photograph by the way of nature in my neck of the woods, seem to be fighting the light which I suppose is normal this time of the year.
Anyway read an article in Nphoto a Nikon Magazine which encouraged me to go out into the cold dark night and try this

...this Sharp-Shinned Hawk came right across, chasing after the Goldfinches. I was thrilled I had the chance to see this in my backyard right before my eyes !
A few seconds later he was perched on the perch I had put up for the Blue Jays, at the exact spot where my camera was pointing !! Wow what a lucky day for me !!!
Those snow mounds are home plate, pitcher's mound and second base.
The color has not been changed on this nor was it shot in b/w or gray or grey tones.
This is real color gray tones ;-)))))

Estrella (α Aquilae).
Zoom digital 155X (3720 mm equivalente, 664.28 mm focal length).

When we recall the past, we usually find that it is the simplest things - not the great occasions - that in retrospect give off the greatest glow of happiness .
