Catedrala Mitropolitana: The ambitious project of the Orthodox cathedral with a volumetric capacity of 5000 people was realized by the architect Ion Traianescu. The style combines the religious Byzantine tradition with the Moldavian one. Its construction lasted 4 years (1936-1940), but the paintings were only finished in 1946. Because of the marshland the edifice stands on a concrete plate supported by more than a thousand 20 meters deep concrete pillars. The 63 m long and 32m wide cathedral has 11 cupolas, the greatest of 83,7m.

August 2024: I was personally very happy with this photo, as it is very hard for me to get a sharp photo of a Stork-billed Kingfisher diving for a fish. Tracking the bird is only one challenge, as the autofocus can have a tendency to focus on the water droplets due to the large splash. This time…I got lucky as it began the departure from the successful dive! - Singapore Quarry, Singapore 🇸🇬
In all the world, no butterflies migrate like the Monarchs of North America. They travel much farther than all other tropical butterflies, up to three thousand miles. They are the only butterflies to make such a long, two way migration every year. Amazingly, they fly in masses to the same winter roosts, often to the exact same trees. Their migration is more the type we expect from birds or whales. However, unlike birds and whales, individuals only make the round-trip once. It is their children's grandchildren that return south the following fall. .........(from monarchwatch.org)

Thank for the visit .......have a nice day :-)
During a day at work, i looked outside and saw a clear, cloudless sky. So in between work i started to plan a Milky Way photoshoot for the evening. Unfortunately when i got to the place where i planned to go there clouds were already creeping from the horizon. So i just quickly took some photos before clouds obstracted the view totally. This is one of them and i am quite happy with it :)
