Automatic transmission filters work somewhat like a sock. That is, fluid and debris enter the neck of the sock. Here the debris is trapped inside. Cleaned fluid passes into the transmission and is pumped under pressure though the unit.

March 11, 2022: Visit the Mullin Automotive Museum in Oxnard, California. Peter Mullin, an avid collector of French automobiles, opened the Mullin Automotive Museum in 2010. An Art Deco collection of furniture, paintings, and sculptures surrounds the classic French cars.
The building is the former location of the Chandler Vintage Museum - where former Los Angeles Times Publisher Otis Chandler displayed his auto and motorcycle collection.
