Our train had an unusual three locomotives. Sanford, Florida sent up the Yard Engine, Amtrak 516, a P32BWH, which no doubt helped accelerating the train after the many stops and slow-orders along the way.

The Lorton crew wasted no time in breaking up the train and releasing the cars so the next train can leave within the next four hours and hopefully recover the schedule.

We named him Charlie.

10-9-12 LOS ANGELES COUNTY FIREFIGHTERS RESPONDED TO THE 23300 BLOCK OF 8TH STREET IN NEWHALL AND FOUND A 20' X 40' GARAGE WITH TWO MODEL "A" VEHICLES INSIDE, WELL INVOLVED. THE FIRE WAS CONFINED TO THE GARAGE AND CONTENTS. THE CAUSE WAS UNDER INVESTIGATION, THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED AND THE LOSS WAS BEING CALCULATED BUT WAS EXPECTED TO BE SIGNIFICANT DUE TO THE AUTOMOBILES.

Zur gleichen Zeit wie die Vierzylinderversion wurde das Spitzenmodell Rover 90 eingeführt, der einen stärkeren 6-Zylinder-Reihenmotor mit 2639 cm³ Hubraum hatte. Diese Maschine lieferte respektable 90 bhp (66 kW) und beschleunigte das Auto auf 144 km/h. Als es 1959 durch den Rover 100 ersetzt wurde, waren 9666 Stück hergestellt worden.
