Once upon a time…

Anamorphic mural created by Leon Keer and Massina during Vibrations Urbaines Festival in Pessac, France with Augmented Reality by Joost Spek.

Leon Keer is a specialist in creating anamorphic street art. The 3d effect caused by this technique is only visible from one viewpoint. The artwork invites spectators to grab their phone and interact with the art.

The Leon Keer app connects Augmented Reality with the anamorphic art. By scanning the painting with your smartphone or tablet, you can see how the painting will come to life.

If you are not on location you can also download an image (www.leonkeer.com/ar/) and use that as the marker to start the 3d animation.

"A new festive-themed augmented reality trail, complete with Christmas train and reindeer dust, can now be enjoyed in Leicester city centre. A free Pokémon Go-style 'augmented reality' app aims to offer a fun experience for all the family, and once unlocked, some elements can even be played at home."
