The ultimate goal was to find a way to run the AR software on a wearable game system, but of course it was prototyped on a PC.

Anamorphic mural created by Leon Keer and Massina during Vibrations Urbaines Festival in Pessac, France with Augmented Reality by Joost Spek.
Leon Keer is a specialist in creating anamorphic street art. The 3d effect caused by this technique is only visible from one viewpoint. The artwork invites spectators to grab their phone and interact with the art.
The Leon Keer app connects Augmented Reality with the anamorphic art. By scanning the painting with your smartphone or tablet, you can see how the painting will come to life.
If you are not on location you can also download an image (www.leonkeer.com/ar/) and use that as the marker to start the 3d animation.

Unfortunately, GPS isn't really precise enough for a fast-action game, both in terms of accurate positioning and response time. A system based on accelerometers and dead reckoning might have worked better if it could be made to stay calibrated.
