A view of one of the entire atrium windows with the persian lilies. This was the side in the shade, while the window which was behind me while shooting this had sun shining through. Enjoy!
About the series
This series of shots were taken on 10-22-2010 at Cheekwood Botanical Garden. Dale Chihuly, world renowned glass artist, was having a garden exhibition where he installs pieces into the gardens to enhance the appeal of both the gardens and his work. This is the fifth Chihuly exhibition that I've gone to and the fourth that I've been able to shoot. I really enjoy the mixture of the glass and the gardens, and it makes for great photo opportunities.
"I love to juxtapose the manmade and the natural to sort of make people wonder, is it manmade or did it come from nature? That's a very important part of my work."

Atrium, designed by Alex Jacque, is a sturdy, linear, geometric sans-serif display typeface based off century-old pen art by W.E. Dennis.
Atrium’s stubbornly geometric letterforms are set off with a few softening flourishes on a few glyphs. It’s sharp corners, straight verticals and horizontals make Atrium pack some punch when used in headlines, pull quotes, and logotypes.
Atrium was released in 2012 in OpenType format and comes in three different weights: light, regular, and bold, with a regular and oblique version of each for a total of 6 styles in the family.

At the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, looking down on Anish Kapoor's Halo, a pleated, polished, stainless-steel sculpture hanging in the atrium. We were there to see an exhibit called American Impressionist: Childe Hassam and the Isles of Shoals."
Lights In The Lobby
HDR photo of inside the lobby of the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel & Convention Center where PSW was held last week. With this shot I had the camera on a tripod very low to the floor and looking up.
In the Sun Princess, as well as many other cruise ships, the main gathering place is called the Atrium. This is where you find shops, concierge desk, cafe, bar, public bathrooms, specialty restaurants, main restaurants, auctions, games and embarkation entrances and disembarkation exits. When the ship was at sea, Mike and I liked to hang out in the lounge area and people watch. Since we don't drink alcoholic beverages, we would just order Shirley Temples or Roy Rogers. One time we tried to order Iced Tea but since that is an onboard complimentary beverage, they told us we had to go to the cafeteria to get that. :( That sucked. They only want people who spend money in the lounge area. :( This photo was taken while in the see-through elevator.
