I could only spend last Saturday at Open House Chicago (due to a trip to New Orleans . . . photos from there coming up next). It was a cloudy day, so the external views were obscured. So, I headed for some buildings with beautiful interiors including Graham, Anderson, Probst & White's 1927 Builders Building on LaSalle. This view is straight up, looking at the stained glass ceiling in the 4-story atrium lobby.
Atrium at Eastpoint Mall. Originally was Hutzlers Eastpoint location. One of the original anchors with Hochschild Kohn. Mall originally opened in 1956. After the store closed, it was converted into a food court with stores and doctors offices. Sears was built onto the side of the old Hutzlers.

Visit to Chicago on March 28, 2013. Macy's (formerly Marshall Field's) on State Street in downtown Chicago is a wonderful department store full of many interesting things. Not the least of the interesting sights at Macy's is the sheer audacity of the space. This is looking up from the main floor to a huge skylight in the ceiling.

We just returned from a fantastic 7-night cruise aboard the Disney Magic. Although the weather was hit or miss, it was great to see everything all "decked out" for the holidays (pun intended!).
Long exposures on a moving vessel are tricky, so I took advantage of a rainy day in Cozumel when the ship was nearly empty to take some shots of the atrium. The ship always has some movement, even when in port, but at least we weren't rocking back and forth on those 10-15 foot waves that would occur later that evening!
