I guess I should tag this post with *WARNING - SPOILERS*, in case you ever plan on visiting, but I've seen the show nearly a dozen times now, and I'm never bored. Even though I know what to expect, my heart still races and I gasp every single time.
Jenn and I accompanied friends Max and Mason (and their parents; foreground of the pictures) to Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex's Atlantis exhibit. The show is excellent (the shot of Atlantis approaching the International Space Station = fantastic), but my absolute favorite part is when you hear the words "Atlantis, welcome home!"
What happens next? Well, it's magical.

The main landing gear of the Space Shuttle Atlantis touches down on the Kennedy Space Center's (KSC) Shuttle Landing Facility to complete the STS-86 mission. Touchdown occurred at 5:55:09 p.m. (EDT), October 6, 1997. Onboard were astronauts James D. Wetherbee, Michael J. Bloomfield, Wendy B. Lawrence, Scott F. Parazynski, Vladimir G. Titov, C. Michael Foale and Jean-Loup J. M. Chretien. Chretien and Titov represent the French Space Agency (CNES) and the Russian Space Agency (RSA), respectively.

2959...Atlantis in the deep blue ocean.........! The last few warm rays of the golden sun before the blue infinitude covers her existence.....!
Here's an unusual perspective on the Lost City (see notes) from the north side of Paria Canyon. This cluster of white domes in the foreground I tentatively call Atlantis, since it appears "sunk" below a prominent peninsula of Flat Top called the Thumb. See notes for other features I have hiked to this year and last on the Paria Plateau.
I was excited to find another new place, till I stumbled across a pond with a cowboy dam inside this cluster. I wondered how on earth cows could get down here from the steep ridge from which I came down? Anyway, it proved that ranchers or somebody got here before me.

58cm Altantis on left, 56cm on right. What a difference tires, stem, wheel size, and farkle can make. Both great bikes.
The Atlantis resort is located on Paradise Island in Nassau, The Bahamas.
It's a short water taxi ride from the cruise terminal.
