A mini-assembly was held with the Commission on Social Witness Thursday morning to discuss and suggest amendments to a proposed Statement of Conscience on Peacemaking. Mac Goekler called for a moment of silence in honor of the Rev. Paul W. Sawyer, a well-known peace activist at GA, who died on Tuesday.

The Vehicle Assembly Building at NASA's Kennedy Space Center is one of the world's largest buildings by volume. Built in 1966 for the Apollo program, it is currently used to mate the orbiter with its external boosters and fuel tank to make the Space Transportation System (or space shuttle).

The trigger head has been placed on top of its unistrut support. Anodized aluminum plates have been placed over the mylar insulation layer. This is part of the "hot plate" system. This layer will carry the current from the capacitors into the main electrode assembly. Note the screws standing up. They will connect the "inner bus" to the plates.
The Georgia Army National Guard was declared champion of the second annual Adjutant General’s Defenders Cup competition this past weekend, which pitted teams from the Georgia Army Guard, Georgia Air Guard and Georgia State Defense Force against one another in a friendly head-to-head-to-head competition of strength, fortitude and aptitude.
While the State Defense Force won the first Defenders Cup last year, this year’s Army Guard team came back with a vengeance. This was the Air Guard’s first appearance at the Cup competition.

The Assembly Rooms have been standing empty for 10 years after a fire knocked out the heating and ventilation system. The building is now likely to be demolished once the Council have decided what will take its place.
The 1977 building was designed by Hugh Casson and Neville Conder in the brutalist style, and has been described as "Derby's post-war modernist gem" and "a Brutalist landmark" in a campaign to save the building (by people who don't have to live with it).
