Michigan Assembly Plant

Ford Focus Assembly

Wayne, Michigan

June 22, 2012

I have been waiting for a Yellow Blaze Focus to show up on the display. Just a week ago, my parents had their 2012 Yellow Blaze Focus out there with the car on display...a white car.

In 1995, I shot photos of my Ultra Violet Escort GT along with another Ultra Violet Escort GT in front of Wayne Assembly Plant (only 816 built in 1995!). I was hoping to do the same with their car.

When I retire my two SVT Contours, I will be likely driving a yellow Focus ST, built at this same plant.

The Scorpion Shoulder Assembly is an all-in-one shoulder pad system for an in-line Zacuto DSLR Baseplate kit. It is best used for traditional ENG style shooting with our EVF or a small monitor. It includes a curved silicone gel shoulder pad, adjustable top handle, and rods to connect the entire assembly to the back of your Zacuto DSLR Baseplate as well as rods to add a counterbalance weight, such as our Z-Lite. The curved form-fitting Akton Polymer pad is a unique design built for ultimate comfort. The pad cushions your shoulder and positions a counterbalance low down behind your shoulder to counteract the weight in the front, resulting in a tremendously comfortable rig, perfect for long shoots. The entire assembly can also be articulated in multiple directions thanks to the built in innovative ball joint feature at the front of the pad. Adjusting the angle of the pad is extremely important for individual comfort. Another great feature is the built in top handle. The handle is great for taking your rig on and off of your shoulder, low mode shooting and easy carrying. The handle can be custom positioned up or down into the pad itself with the turn of a lever. The pad assembly connects to the back of the Zacuto DSLR Baseplate via (2) 2” M/F rods. These rods screw into the back of the baseplate and connect to the shoulder pad itself via 15mm quick release ports. This quick release system allows you to quickly switch from handheld to tripod. The shoulder assembly also includes (2) 3.5” M/F rods in the back so you can easily add any 15mm accessory for counterbalance such as our Z-Lite or Zwiss Plate (with a battery plate and pro brick batteries facing away from the pad). The amount of counterbalance you add in the back is determined by the amount of weight you have in front.

In 1L's assembly, the children performed a scene based on a Polish ballet ‘Coppelia’. The performance showed the toys in Dr. Coppelia’s workshop. Year 1 have been learning about kindness, one of the Malvern College qualities. This was demonstrated through song and dance. Congratulations to 1L for an amazing, vibrant, energetic dance interpretation. It was a fantastic way to incorporate music and movement in order to develop self-confidence. Wow!

This assembly is similar to the inker for the Vandercook No. 1 I sold two years ago. Gotta see who bought it and if they've restored it.
