An aspect of England, roaming deer albeit in a park these days. Knole Park, Sevenoaks, Kent.

Little information is known about the birth of Martín Vázquez de Arce.

We do know, however, that he died during the Granada War, in 1486.

He has become a romantic figure due to the serene and meditative aspect of his exceptional gothic tomb in the cathedral of Sigüenza, one of the jewels of funerary statuary of all time and a symbol of the city.

The Doncel lies, in carved alabaster, lying cross-legged. He is a knight who has died fighting the infidels. He has a book in his hands, and he meditates with his eyes lost on the ground, after having read. On his chest he wears the red cross of the Order of Santiago of which he is a knight. At his feet, on his metal headpiece, a little page looks at him, and he cries. El Doncel de Sigüenza is the maximum representation of medieval culture, the use of weapons to defend the faith, reading to attain wisdom. The gaze always lost in the afterlife, safe residence of the soul.

On the 21th day I woke up at the Bergen campground with this view behind my tent. The geese where swimming peacefully, and it reminds me I haven't much bird shots, for two reasons. I didn't see many birds (apart from sparrows and wagtails), and second my 200 mm lens broke down on the first day, so it was rather useless to try something. this was done with a 50 mm, so they were almost in my nose when I shot this.

The rest of the day i walked through Bergen but I am not very happy with the result. This is probably the best I have from this day.

Lovely valleys, bare mountains and cold winds, snow packs, glaciers, beautiful lakes, and then there are the enchanting fjords that never stop to amaze. The most beautiful country of Europe, for me no doubt about that, with only one minor aspect, which is the weather. During my month of traveling I only had 4 really nice days, the rest of the time clouds, rain, and very changeable! Still no regret, and I will go back to make even more than the 3500 pictures that I took this time.

Another very active

vacation that took me to the south west up to Trondheim in a sort of triangle between Oslo- Trondheim and Bergen with the whole route visible here (www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153668247101759&set...).

One aspect of shooting wildlife in Costa Rica that I was warned about and found it to be true was the lighting. Rainforest travel equals rain, lush green backgrounds and any sun that makes it below the full tree canopy above adds a green hue to your shots.

Since I don't know how to use Photoshop to edit, and barely know how to use Lightroom, I guess we are all stuck with it!

Here’s another aspect of the very distinctive gatehouse at Brockhampton in Herefordshire, England. It was built from oak that was felled in 1542, more than a century after the main house was erected. The timber was worked in the nearby woods, then brought to a framing yard beside the house, where it was assembled.

The now charmingly lopsided gatehouse was never intended to guard the house; instead, it was an ostentatious symbol of wealth, informing people that they were visiting a very important family. Later in its life, in the early 1900s, it was used as a gamekeeper’s store and even a chicken coop.

When the family line died out in 1948 the gatehouse, manor house, and a substantial estate of buildings and land, was given to the National Trust, which continues to care for and administer the place today.

Aspects of the Dundee waterfront in July 2024.

New waterfront properties, with the Tay (rail) Bridge in the background. As the tide is low, the stumps of the piers of the earlier bridge can be seen.

Union Pacific's daily Ogden - Cheyenne manifest pulls its 75-car train under signal bridge 9469 between Baskin and Emory, Utah in Echo Canyon on June 27, 1992. UP's signal and cantilever bridges were removed from the Evanston Subdivision two decades ago. They were a necessity for signal aspect viewing when this left-hand running railroad operated steam locomotives with very long boilers. Not much of a problem for a crew in an SD40-2 with a low hood.

Its a tree. naturey textural stuff.

In the foreground is an old building whereas the background is of newer buildings. The port is very active.

A child tries to catch rain water in a bottle from a seaside jetty, Yucatan coast.

I took this photo two weeks ago. it didn’t figure in my first pass through the images of the morning now I kind of like it. The only issue I find with it is I can’t decide on the aspect ratio I like best. The composition started life as a 4:3 in camera, after a couple of images I switched the camera to the full 3:2 to get the sweep of the crashing wave, this wishy-washy approach then creeped into the processing where I worked on the 3:2 but didn’t like the balance, then reduced it to a square with the dynamic part of the wave central, I then eventually decided the crop was to tight and here is the 4:5 (in the good old days this was always a 8 by 10 because of the popular photographic paper size). Do you have these indecisions with your aspect ratio, of have you always a good idea what you are after.

Me enojaré amor mío,

sin que sea por ti

y compraré bombones

pero no para ti.

Me pararé en la esquina

a la que no vendrás

y diré las palabras que se dicen

y comeré las cosas que se comen

y soñaré las cosas que se sueñan

y sé muy bien que no estarás

ni aquí dentro, la cárcel

donde aún te retengo

ni allí fuera, este río de calles

y de puentes.

No estarás para nada,

no serás ni recuerdo,

y cuando piense en ti

pensaré un pensamiento

que oscuramente

trata de acordarse de ti.

This is the Paeonia lactiflora, also Chinese Peony, the bloom has a flower-like circle of stamens and unique carpels & stigmas, its very own little surprise tucked inside its petals.

I love the translucent petals, yet when they are in bud, it looks like they are waxy and 'hard', not at all silky, which they are.

The Peony is indigenous to China, but was imported to Japan so early it is difficult to be certain when the transplantation occurred.

It is a perennial plant with single flowers of white, red or pink which are born in late spring.

The peony was originally introduced as medicine.

In fact, its ancient Japanese name 'Ebisugusuri' literally means ‘medicine from China’.

However, due to its beautiful and now mostly double blooms, in time, many decorative varieties were developed.

In Japanese society, it was seen both as a medicine and a source of beauty.

Wishing you well and stay safe.

Have a wonderful day, filled with love and beauty, M, (*_*)

With the sanders working, 56091 restarts 6M43 from a signal check at Rattenclough Cottage Crossing on the climb to Copy Pit. 2N90 was running late in the section ahead and I imagine the driver was cursing the red aspect on the climb.

I wasn't mind, it gave enough time for the sun to climb above a bit of thin cloud. To be fair, the grid immediately found its feet and continued the climb at walking pace.

Managed to include my trusty 20 year old Defender 110 in the frame and write off a pair of Adidas Simba trainers in the morning dew having traipsed across the fields looking for the best shot, when I could have just walked along the pavement from where I parked my Landy! Perils of the hobby.

Glad to get this rare hire in by Colas of the DCR 56, the train is 6M43, 02.43 Haverton Hill to Preston Docks, itself a relatively new flow, taking over from the flow from Lindsey.

The lights came on, back to work for the night, shops and attractions were closing down grateful for the calming rest, DONE FOR THE DAY...

Saludos.

Another aspect of Chrysanthemum, tightly packed, a true Autumn flower, built against rain, wind and cold?

The name "chrysanthemum" is derived from the Greek words chrysos (gold) and anthemon (flower)

Chrysanthemums, sometimes called mums or chrysanths, are flowering plants of the genus Chrysanthemum in the family Asteraceae. They are native to Asia and northeastern Europe. Most species originate from East Asia and the center of diversity is in China. Chrysanthemums were first cultivated in China as a flowering herb as far back as the 15th century BC.

The flower was brought to the Western World in the 17th century. There are about 40 valid species and countless horticultural varieties and cultivars.

For many years, chrysanthemum signifies praise and admiration. A chrysanthemum is considered as a noble flower of the Chinese noble class.

Aspects of the Natioinal Museum of Australia.

ARM and Robert Peck von Hartel Trethowan architects jointly won an international competition in 1997 to design it. The Museum wraps around 11 hectares on the Acton Peninsula on Lake Burley Griffin, opposite Romaldo Giurgola’s Parliament House.

There are two big architectural ideas that guide the building’s shape: the Boolean string, which embodies our views on Australian history as tangled and incomplete, and the jigsaw puzzle, which signifies that the Museum is conceptually unfinished. It is a work in progress towards the articulation of the Australian experience that evolves over time.

Each of the jigsaw-puzzle pieces has a different stylised appearance and construction type. Together, the pieces form an incomplete circle around the central Garden of Australian Dreams.

External and internal walls have giant Braille signs like goosebumps. The signs spell out phrases, some colloquial, some suggestive: “Sorry, mate”, “She’ll be right”, “Time will tell”, “Who is my neighbour?” and “God knows”.
