Ledbetter House

Designed by Bruce Goff

Norman, OK

1947

Bruce Goff liked to use conventional objects in interesting, new ways in his designs, and in the Ledbetter House, he uses clear glass ashtrays as embellishments in the doors and vertical paneling throughout the house.

Ashtray outside kindergarten.

I found these in the shed in a box. Old ashtrays that hubby had gotten at some auction years ago and forgot about. I couldn't resist putting a lego man in the driver's seat.

I hold an image of the ashtray girl

of cigarette burns on my chest

I wrote a poem that described her world

That put our friendship to a test

And late at night whilst on all fours

She used to watch me kiss the floor

What's wrong with this picture?

Farewell the ashtray girl

Forbidden snowflake

Beware this troubled world

Watch out for earthquakes

Goodbye to open sores

To broken semaphores

you know we miss her

we miss her picture.

& what do we do when waiting @ a café for the rest of the colleagues ? yep, taking pics of me :)

An old favourite of mine taken at a friend's moustache party in the now defunct Liquid Lounge. Aptly, this was taken in the final week that smoking was legally permitted in bars in Scotland.
