SMC Pentax-A 50mm F1.4

I saw this at the antique mall last week. I like the color and style of it. I’ve never smoked though. I remember my parents having a smaller one like it but it was strange because they have never smoked in their life. My uncles smoked, so maybe they kept it for them in the 70s. I can just picture this at. 60s or 70s dinner party with everyone there having a cigarette. Look at all the spaces in this ashtray...

If you have time the view on BLACK without distractions cheers Ed

A touch of visual whimsy on a Friday night, for as Sheldon says in TBBT, "What's life without whimsy?". This was taken in Sorrento, a rather affluent resort on the Bay of Naples coast. This particular beach at Sorrento is about a hundred feet below the cliff I was standing on. It's an exclusive private beach, set aside for the rich clients of a very upmarket hotel. If you look carefully you'll see that the sand has been raked smooth after the clients have left...raked smooth! Hmmm, their clients have way too much time on their hands, or in this case, feet! The contrast between the ordered lines of tables and brollies and the chaos of the sea really caught my eye, but as much as I like patterns and juxtapositions like those portrayed here (I really do!), it wasn't until I saw the ashtray that I knew I had to create something out of this scene.

A promise that I could not make .
