Walking through this amazing old city I found absolutely fantastic place - Augustinergasse.
Augustinergasse is a small street off the Bahnhofstrasse (to which Joyce dedicated a poem), and takes its name from the nearby St Augustine church.
A gently ascending, picturesque lane with beautiful guildhouses that date from 14th-18th century. Of particular interest are the ornate bay windows and intricately painted facades of the lane's period buildings.
Le persone viaggiano per stupirsi delle montagne, dei mari, dei fiumi, delle stelle; e passano accanto a se' stessi senza meravigliarsi.

Coastal scene along the spectacular north west coast of Scotland.
Landscape Photography is easy......anyone can give it a try, it's so accessible. Head out the door with your smart phone and start shooting. You don't need tripods and filters to get great shots. There's so many locations where you can grab great shots just by sticking your camera out the window of the car.
Landscape Photography is hard....and mastering it can take a lifetime. There are technical issues that must be learned like compositions rules, camera settings and exposure triangle. You need an artistic vision to tell a story. However, if you take on these challenges you will be rewarded with great images and a deep sense of satisfaction that will keep you wanting more. It doesn't hurt to be lucky either.
Whichever of the above is true, if you catch the bug, spending time in the Great Outdoors into interesting locations promotes a more active lifestyle with virtually no downside and your overall wellbeing will be increased.
Wishing you a wonderful, warm and loving Valentines Day! And remember....if you can't be with the one you love...love the one you're with 😘

Playing in the paint once again. This one started out as a bottom bottle pour but I really didn't like it. I proceeded to work with the paint, blowing it around with a straw. I started to see wings and then a figure....I thought...hmmm...I can work with that!
An abandoned house on the Isle of Scalpay.
Scalpay is connected to the Isle of Harris by a bridge which was built in 1997. However, since then the population has continued to decline and is currently around 300.
In 2012 the owner of the island offered Scalpay to the residents for free. The residents voted to take over the running of the island and it is hoped the fortunes of the Scalpay will improve now the community has control of its own destiny.

We as a family know the pain and overwhelming grief of losing a child to stillbirth. My daughter was helped through her grief by the wonderful people at Sids and Kids. She has entered a contest (Canon Creative for a Cause Competiton) to win $60,000 for the charity of her choice and has chosen SIDS. You can view her photo at

Missnoma (Claire) described the window "seems to be a mother's bowed head in grief and the shape of an S for Sids" and I think she described it perfectly.
