While working on a particle accelerator, I accidentally put the camera into the proton stream. This pic needed all the Photoshop it could get.

Fuegos Artificiales del Combate Naval 2008 de Vilagarcía de Arousa

Empecé sacando las fotos con un minitrípode y un control remoto,a una apertura de F entre 14 y 18 con tiempo de exposición bastante más largos, siempre con 100ISO; pero ocurrían varias cosas:
Lo primero es que en el agua había demasiados reflejos, destacaba demasiado el agua, respecto el fondo oscuro. Siempre se podria subexponer, con el photoshop pero visto en la playa, en el momento, no me pareción una opción.
El otro problema que vi, nada más empezar con los fuegos acuáticos que estaban justo enfrente, es que el viento hacía que al "caer los fuegos" estos daban una imagen deformada hacia la izquierda de la foto, creaban como una deriva. Es decir, la permanencia de luz, durante unos segundos, quedaban impresionados en la foto de forma distorsionada por el viento. Allí, en la playa en directo no se nota el efecto, pero en las fotos se ven como aplastados por la derecha y estirados hacia la izquierda.
Por eso luego elegí un tiempo de exposición más corto, para no dar tiempo a que se vea esa deformidad. Si el viento hubiese dado de frente (cosa poco deseable por el humo) o de espaldas a mi, me imagino que tampoco se notaría eso.
Por el encuadre, me parece recordar que estas las hice "a pulso", pero otras muchas (en apaisado casi todas) las hice apoyando la cámara en la rodilla para evitar vibraciones. Tengo un objetivo 18-200 todoterreno, el problema es que en ocasiones veo luces parásitas que no solía ver con el 18-55. No se si estas luces que veo ahora se deben realmente al objetivo (lo más lógico hablando de estos diseños de lentes) o que el filtro UV (que me regalaron con el objetivo) no es tan bueno como los que usaba en el 18-55.
A lo que iba, estuve tentado a llevar el 18-55, pero hice bien en llevar el 18-200 porque me parece a mi que sin el estabilizador de imagen sería imposible tirar esas fotos sin trepidaciones, aún así, solo hay que fijarse en el castillo para ver como están.

Back to dramatic studio lighting!
The combination of Pixy's playfulness and the dismal pre-dawn rain and wind inspired me to get the lamps out and take Pixy's photo in bright light.
Happily Pixy seemed to tolerate the lamp light better than he did before we took a break from studio lighting.
